I sat at the desk with the pencil in my hand. I took a deep breath and ignored the fact that my knuckles and cheeks were white from my grip and nervousness.
"Alison?" An unfamiliar voice called.
"H-here!" I stuttered out shakily making me mentally slap my face. 'Damnit...' The class looked at me and I pulled my hoodie up. 'Please stop...' I silently pleaded. Soon enough they ignored me again and I let a silent sigh of relief fall from my lungs. As the teacher talked my wrist moved, dragging the pencils graphite tip around the paper to create thin lines. Wavy or straight lines, silently being created as I drew. I concentrated quietly on my drawing. I closed my eyes and rubbed them softly. I remembered what the clock said.
10:57
Class got out at 11:52
I sighed and nearly whimpered as I remembered. I growled silently but tensed once someone grabbed my hair. I silently let their hand guide my head up. I looked up and looked to my right to have my eyes meet purple eyes.
"Hey Ali." I blinked rapidly as he smiled at me with his crooked teeth. The ones he was so petrified to show me because they were crooked. I smiled slightly as he kept his hand in my hair.
"Hi Caleb."
Caleb.... Is hard to explain. Call me crazy... Ive been called that before. But Caleb... Isnt real. He is like my imaginary friend, a coping mechinism is what my friend says. Another says its cause Im an author. Yet another calls me a psychotic freak. I never minded. He was a character that randomly appeared in my world one day. Nobody else saw him, only me. I wasnt able to talk outloud so I had to think. But since he was a part of my subconcious, he could hear me. Its crazy I know, but its my crazy.
He blinked his purple eyes, brushing his blonde waves back from his face. "Why you look sad?" He pouted and I smiled a bit.
'Im not sad Caleb,' I thought. 'Im just perfectly peachy.' He laughed and sat on my desk as I copied the notes.
"C'mon Ali! I know how you feel, remember???"
'Yes I know.' He laughed happily. "This class is boring Ali."
'It is not.' I thought. 'Its my favorite. Its just that everyone in this class is preppy.' He blinked and nodded. "Ah. Want me to pull some hair?" I shook my head frantically,
"Alison? You have a question???"
I snapped my head up to see the teacher right in my face.
"N-no! I am just fine." My cheeks heated up from embarrassment and nervousness as my classmates giggled and snickered, talking about me to their partners. Caleb reached out his hand and wrapped his fingers around a girls hair. He tugged it and she squeaked angrily, glaring at the girl behind her. Caleb appeared beside me while the teacher settled everyone. I shook lightly.
'Caleb that wasnt nice...' I sighed silently
"Niether is she." He said with a laugh. The bell rang quickly and the class disregarded Our teachers words as they packed up and walked out. I blinked and slowly packed up, laughing as Caleb made a face at me.
"Happy now??? You gonna actually get friends now, ya loser???"
"Yes... Yes I am." I murmured under my breath as he grinned with his lips closed, hiding his teeth.
"Bye Ali." He grinned, tugging my hair before vanishing as Emmaline tackled me to the ground.
"Talking to yourself again???" She asked brushing her long, brunette hair back.
"Yeah... I guess."
