Where It All Started

"C'mon, let's go to the movies." Triston's mop of black hair glittered in the light of his dorm. His arched cheekbones cast shadows against his jaw. Demon DNA did its works.

"Really? Again?" Katelyn said. She crossed her arms. Her blue eyes glittered with amusement.

"Sure. I need some feel-good movies to escape this horror of a woman in my life." Triston smiled.

Triston and Katelyn have been together for a year and a half, now, and Triston had been planning to ask Katelyn out on another date soon, probably during the movie.

"Fine. But Izzy, Blizz, and Jess are coming too." She walked out of the dorm, to Blizzard and Jesse's dorm. She knocked.

"Who is it?" Blizzard's voice called from behind the door.

"It's Kate. Triston and I wanted to take you and Jesse to the movies. You coming?" Kate's heart was pounding. Blizzard would probably make sure Isabelle was coming. And sure as hell she'd make it interesting.

"Sure. I'll grab Jess. Give me five minutes."

Katelyn sauntered over to Isabelle's dorm, her pink hair swaying behind her. She'd decided to dye it a few weeks ago, but at the moment she despises it.

"Hello?" Izzy's voice drifted through the door.

"It's Kate. Want to come to the movies? Blizz, Jess, Tris and I are coming."

"Sure. What movie?"

"Probably a sappy vampire movie. Triston's turn to pick."

"Alright then. Give me a minute to get ready."

As Katelyn walked back to her own dorm, she was thinking about Jesse. It was close to a full moon, and he was probably going to freak when he stepped outside. It was annoying to constantly remind him that he couldn't Turn unless he wanted to.

As Katelyn walked into the dorm, Triston walked up to her.

"Kate. I say we take the back this time."

"No way. Not in a million years, Tris. It's a public theater. Anyway, I think the movie will have enough mush for the night.

A few minutes later, the other three gathered around Triston and Katelyn's dorm.

"Let's go."
