Alfred's pov
I heard a song come on. Oh my god its our song.I looked over at my long time lover and took his hand
"may i have this dance?"
Let me be clear
He grabbed my hand
Look in my eyes
Ask me why, theyve gone from brown to blue
We began dancing around our living room.
Let yourself in, dont be supprised, in what you find
He smiled at me and started to sing along.
"all that you see is true," he sang to the song
"i dont want to have a horse in the running- I don't want to spread the news of the storm that is a coming-
I don't want to be a saint on your shoulder-
I don't want to be young
Be another day older-
I don't want to be the son of a better man-
I don't want to love you any more than the best I can-
I just want to be your man" we exchanged back and forth me ending it.We danced back and forth the living room his hands on my shoulders and mine on his waist. I would- no, we would- remeber this forever.
Old fairy tales built up on lies
Meant to disguise what we have left to lose
Turn me to stone
Offer me twice
Into the fire
Into the fire I chooseWe began singing the chorus again, but i led this time
I don't want to have a horse in the running-
I don't want to spread the news of the storm that is a coming-
I don't want to be a saint on your shoulder-
I don't want to be young
Be another day older-
I don't want to be the son of a better man-
I don't want to love you any more than the best I can-
I just want to be your manAll we did was slowly rock back and forth forehead against forehead, for we knew the song, it was our song.
Daddy was a fool when he walked out on the wire
Waited for the wind, the wind was on fire
She took him at his word and they never turned back
Never turned back againWe began belting the chorus again, both of us grinning and happily signing along. Right afterwards I spun him so he was a few feet away and got on my knee.
He turned around and put his hands to his face.
"Arthur Kirkland, love of my life, will you marry-" he cut him off and they passionately kissed
"Yes, yes my bloody git."
I don't wanna be a saint on a shoulder I don't wanna be young
Be another day olderI don't wanna be the son of a better man
I just wanna be your man
