I opened my door and shut it behind then I turn around to see a honking Matt in his new bright red sports car. my jaw dropped, he noticed and began showing off by rubbing the engine with a loud roar.

I speed walk up to the window and he rolls the window down."shhhh not everyone is up at this godly hour" I hushed.

" hop in!" he whispered loudly threatening to honk with his hand hovering over the center of the steering wheel.

"only if I haaaaavvvveeee to." I giggled in excitement. "thanks for the ride Matt " I said while rubbing the leather of the console that seperated the drivers seat from the passengers.

"oh ya sure... just don't... touch...anything." he said nervously looking at my hand touching his precious reddish brown leather.

I started to pretend to push a bunch of buttons curiously "hey what's this button do!?" I laughed.

"hey hey hey! that button activates the emergency escape! it will eject you right from your seat!" he said seriously.

I pulled my hand back starring at Matt with a terrified expression "what!?".

Matt started to laugh hysterically " hahaha so gullible!" he hooted.

we came to a stop light and I looked out the window to see a guy in his own sporty car. he looked over and winked with a smirk and a click . I scoffed and furrowed my eyebrows. Matt looked over at me in confusion to see why I was scoffing then saw the guy in his black convertible. Matt must have made a furrious glare cause the guy rubbed his engine seeing the other cars in front of us slow to a yellow light. I see Matt snap his head up to the red light concentrating harder than he ever would in school.

"Matt-"he rubbed the engine over my voice."MATT! don't you dare..." I hissed in his direction.

Matt looked at me with pleading eyes while I glared back giving him a look that he knew if he accepted this douche bags challenge to a race, after we got to school I would shunn him in ashame. his tensed body that braced to the seat eased and he hung his head down avoiding eye contact. I heard the guys beside us Hollar and whoot as the light changed. but I didn't dare look their way when they stepped on the gas pedal and sped off. I was proud of Matt though. Matt looked up slightly enough to see the road and began to start driving again. Matt looked at me like a puppy had been scolded for chewing up some pillows for the family room. it broke my heart to see him ashamed of himself.

I clicked my tongue against my teeth with a sigh "Matt don't look at me like that..."

he looked back up at the road as we pulled up to the high school. he parked then turned off the engine not making a motion to get out. leaving us in an awkward silence. then we looked at each other.

he hesitated but began to speak "i-im sorry, sky." he apoligized.

" why would I be mad?" I smiled sweetly accepting his apology. matt smiled widely.

I stepped out of the car then Matt followed my lead. when we started walking into school many glances were made at us stepping out of the car. but even the people who hadn't seen us step out of the car made surprised glances our way. I wasn't sure why people were so surprised i mean we walk together through the hall every morning? Matt looked over at me to see me confused by all the glances directed our way.
