Chapter 2

Pushing past the large group of jocks, I finally see the tall brown gates towering over me. They  welcome me into the schools grasp once again. I let out a sigh of relief at the thought of being back at school. I've always loved the idea of school and work. As the thought rushes over my head the bell alarms us all that its is time for class.

Twisting and turning through the enormous crowd of students, I finally arrive at my locker. Then suddenly I am barged by the large group of senior girls, leaving my books scattered all over the floor. I reach down to gather my books, noticing that there is another person helping me pick up my books. By the long straight brown hair I instantly know who it is, Maple. Dragging my eyes up to face her, I notice the red rings around her eyes showing me that she has been crying. I open my mouth to say something when suddenly she speaks.

" I'm sorry for how I acted this morning its just I have some family stuff that I have to deal with and my parents said I can't see or talk to you until its sorted out. "

" what do you mean? " I ask.

She just looks at me with worried eyes and says.

" I've got to go "

Before I can say anything else she walks away leaving me blank of what just happened.

It has been 3 weeks and I haven't seen or spoke to Maple since the little incident I had with her. To tell the truth I was really worried about her and I didn't know where she had gone. During this time I have realised how much I haven't noticed in the past 3 years that I have been in high school. For example Alexandra Graham Bell did not invent the telephone for people to just sit around on all day, when they could be studying or reading.

Walking down the long crowded corridor I see someone I haven't seen in so long, Maple. She is walking towards me, I feel myself getting so excited and I just want to hug her, only she walks straight past me, leaving a blank expression on my face. I decided to ignore it as I was kind of getting annoyed with her.

Barging through the crowd I struggled to keep a grip of my books, until finally I arrived at my English class room. I was already five minutes late so I didn't hesitate to knock on the door. The door swung open and I walked in feeling all eyes staring at me.

" Stacey, glad you could make it, please have a seat will you. " my teacher Miss Ford addresses.

I look around the room for a spare seat, luckily there is one in the back corner of the room. Sitting down I lean down to my bag and pull out my English book and pencil case, placing them neatly on my desk. I feel a poke on my arm and instantly turn only to see my worst nightmare, Ashley Riggs. Ashley Riggs is the most popular girl in school and lets just say she hates me. Once she tipped her left over spaghetti all over my head also she tipped her lemonade on me as well.

I glance over to her and she hands me a note. Trying not to catch the teachers attention I open the note reading:

LOOSER WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?

I look down at my clothes and see that there is actually nothing wrong with them but apparently there is to Ashley. I ignore her and sit in silence jotting down notes as Miss Ford speaks for the rest of the lesson.
