I don't remember much after that. However, I remember what happened the next morrning. Waking up on the floor in Carah's room, with a huge sweatshirt on and my hair knotted. As I sat up, I noticed how much my back was aching, as well as every other part of my body.
The room appered to be empty, but there was a noise coming from downstairs. I got up slowly, realizing that I didn't have any pants on. I grabbed my skirt in the corner and put it on.
What happened last night?
As I walked down the stairs to the kitchen, I looked at my phone. 9 missed calls and 17 text messages. Great. Most of the calls were from Rachel but I didnt exatly care about that. She left a message asking if I was okay. Of course I was okay? Why wouldn't I be.
*FLASHBACK*
"Sky! I dare you to jump in the pool with no clothes on." A voice said.
"No problem!" I said a little too eagerly. I had just drank four huge shots of vodka and chased it with some pineapple juice. The tase still lingered and burned in my throat.
After I jumped and heard the guys yell, I sat back down on the cement where we were playing.
"Ryan. I dare you to call Young Arts and tell them that you're quitting!" I said. It sounded highlarous at the time.
"Sky they are closed. They wouldn't know I was kidding." He said. His eyes were red and blurry. He was just as gone as I was.
"Just do it you baby." Chase mumbled.
"Ill do it for you." I grabbed his phone and it took me a minute to find the number in the contacts, considering his phone screen was blurry.
The office was closed, but I left a voicemail. One that I didn't realize would change so much.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
As I stumbled into the kitchen, I saw Carah sitting at the table drinking some coffee and looking terrible. I guess I couldn't talk, considering I was wearing a sweatshirt and skirt.
"Hey." She said and gestured for me to pull up a chair.
"Is anyone else still here?" I said and awkwardly sat down.
"Well a group of girls left about an hour ago. We have rehearsal at one." She said and took a sip of her coffee.
"Oh crap I forgot about that." Rehearsal wasn't exactly first priority on my mind right now. I didn't remember anything that happened last night after Ryan and I kissed.
Ryan.
Where was he? Were we a thing now? Did we do more than kiss?
"Yeah we still have an hour. I just gotta get this house cleaned. My parents come back from Europe today." Carah said absentmindedly.
"I would stay and help, but I have to go home. I have to get ready for rehearsal. " I grabbed my phone and started searching around for my keys.
"Do you know where my-" Carah cut me off.
"In the bathroom. They were in the shower but I moved them this morning."
"Thanks." I said and went into the bathroom.
~~~
The drive home was horrible. My head was pounding and I was afraid I would drift and get in a crash. Luckily, I was just awake enough to make it home.
As I walked through the front door, I realized that my parents probably didn't want me to stay out all night. If they ask I'll tell them I slept over at Carah's. Which wasn't a lie exactly.
I went upstairs, grabbed my phone charger and threw on some leggings and a T shirt.
Just when I was ready to go, my phone started ringing. It was Phoebe.
"Hey!" I said into the receiver.
"You sound chipper. Can you tell YA that I can't come because my leg still hurts?" She sounded tired.
"What happened to your leg?"
"Last night," Phoebe sounded annoyed. "Anyways I won't be there. Can you tell them?"
"Sure." I said and hung up. She was acting weird.
~~~
When I pulled into Young Arts, I was nervous. What had happened last night? What happened to Phoebes leg and what happened with Ryan? I wanted to call him.
I sat in the car in my driveway, and nervously clicked on his contact. After a couple rings, he picked up.
"Hey Ryan. I just wondered what happened last night? I don't remember anything and I wondered if you did."
No response. This was a bad idea.
"Hello?" I said cautiously.
"What Sky? What do you want? Do you want to mess up my life more than you already have?!" His words stabbed me. I couldn't talk.
"What are you saying?"
"Shut up. You know exactly what I'm saying and you should be lucky I'm even talking to you." He snapped at me.
Tears rolled down my hot cheeks. What was he saying? Was it about the kiss?
"I'm sorry we kissed Ryan but that's not that big of a deal! We can forget it if you want!!" I screamed.
"We didn't kiss what the fuck are you talking about? All I know is that when I woke up my Parents came into my room saying that YA called them telling them that I wasn't a student there anymore. And you have something to do with it. Now I'm grounded for months and I can't go there anymore. And it's your fault."
I don't remember ever being so confused.
"Ryan, please, I'm so sorry," I begged. What was he saying? What could I of done?
"I don't remember anything from the moment I got to the party to when I left. And now my life's screwed up and I just.. I don't want to talk to you." His voice was shaken. I hung up.
I sat in the parking lot sobbing for a long time. I'm such a screw up.
