"Flop"
I dropped the stack of pictures on his desk.
"Explain please.” I said shortly.
He dropped the goofy smile he had on and looked at the photographs.
“Uh… Who gave you this?” he looked at me with those caramel eyes.
“Don’t play games with me David. Why?”
He finally paid attention. The rest of the noisy classroom got quiet when I came in while the teacher was on the phone, not noticing my presence,
“I can explain?”
It took all my force to not slap him across the face. I rolled my eyes instead. “How cliché David. Why would you do this to me? Couldn’t you stop being all horny for a week until I came back from vacation? Just because I don’t want to have sex yet means you have to be sleeping around with other whores?” I knew it was too good to be true. The shy and nerdy girl with the school’s cocky jock.
“Sorry?” he said.
Some stuck-up girl started laughing. I closed my eyes as tears fought to spill out my eyelids. My throat grew a cloud that didn’t allow words to float out. I let myself walk slowly out the door.
“Where are you going Abby?” he asked. When I opened the classroom door I raised my hand up high and my middle finger higher.
This chick is single.

“How did it go?” asked my best friend Luke. He was a Dave look-a-like. He was also a football and very handsome but Luke was nice, sweet. He was also a biology freak like me. Why I didn’t go out with him? He was younger than me. I knew it didn’t matter but oh well. My friend Katherine hated the fact that I felt that way but Luke was like my little brother. Even though he was taller than me, he had a deep voice and honey brown eyes and cute, soft, short black hair. He was skinny but had muscle in all the right places.
“Hello Abby? Thinking about my irresistible looks?” woops.
“Nooo… he embarrassed me in front of everyone…” I closed my eyes again. I still couldn’t believe that even though I left Florida to New York for just a week AND invited him to go with me, he “had plans."
I felt him put an arm around me and the other pat my back. Luke was the one who took the pictures. At first, I thought that Luke had gone too far. He has had a crush on me since middle school. Obviously, I have made a lot of mistakes in my life.
“I will always be there for you Abby.” I furiously wiped my tears away.
“Okay enough crying. We have to get to lunch and I have to use the restroom." He smiled and cupped my cheek quickly and gently pulled away. I rushed to the restroom and looked at myself in the mirror. My straight, brown hair that barely brushed my shoulders was wet at the end from the cold outside. It was held back with a skinny red band garnished with a rose. The thing I loved most from myself were my large blue eyes. My mother always loved to compliment them. I noticed my small lips quivering. How I hated feeling weak. My 5’3 height did not help either.
Craterview Senior High was a rich, stuck-up school in a rich, stuck-up neighborhood. But i have learned to survive. I grew to like who I was. I passed my hands over my shirt and fixed my bag. Before I walked out of the bathroom, I heard two voices speaking towards each other.
"Mary, leave her alone."
"David, please, she needs to harden up in life. You’re finally rid of that wannabe trash okay?"
"Don't make her cry again."
Ha...Bring tissues."
I opened the door as the blonde with pink highlights, too much tanning spray, and weird long-looking eyebrows staggered towards the cafeteria.
David was standing staring at his phone before his caramel eyes landed on me. My phone rang at the same time. Damn. He smiled his radiant smile.
“Abby, Babe, come here… you’ve been crying agai-“
“Ever since I’ve been with you, all you did was made me cry.”
I ran to class before I would forgive him for his toxic words.
English was my favorite class. I sat down in my seat and decided to ruin my notebook by drawing random things on it.
“Class! I need you all to pay attention and greet a new student. His name is Samuel Anderson."
