~Part 1~
The smell of smoke was thick in the air as the houses around me burned, the heat of the flames hot against my skin. I stumbled toward the centre of town, searching for my family. When I reached the centre, I froze. My mother, my father and my older sister were tied to a log in the middle of flames. I started running toward them, crying their names. I was nearly at the edge of the fire when something hit me from behind. I looked up slowly, my vision blurred from tears of pain to see a group of cloaked people standing before me. The leader pulled down their hood and I saw the murderous joy on his face.
"Hello little boy, how are you doing?" The man says, laughing hysterically.
I just stare at him, glaring hatred. He stops laughing and crouches before me.
"Was that your family?" He asks with genuine curiosity.
I just continue to glare but the man sees the answer in my eyes. A sadistic smile creeps slowly onto his face as he grabs my chin and forces me to look at him.
"I believe you'll bring me great entertainment in the future so I'll tell you a little secret. I killed your family personally so how about you try to kill me." He says, just before he knocks me out cold.
When I woke up, I was looking up at a white ceiling with a heart monitor steadily beeping beside me. I slowly sat up and looked around the room. It was a simple room with the essential machines, a small table in the corner with a pot of vibrant coloured flowers and a chair propped against the other corner in the room. I turned my head to look out of the window, which was opened to let in a nice breeze. I could see that the sky outside was a bright and a cheerful blue, totally different to what I was feeling inside. To me, it felt as if I was in the middle of a raging storm with no way out. Over and over again, the scene of my family burning in the middle of a pier of flames played in my head and the mans sadistic smile along with it.
By the time the nurse came into my room, my mind had fully sunken into the depths of hatred totally devoid of any other emotions.
"Oh your awake." The nurse says as she walks toward me, a kind smile on her face. She gently pats my hand as she presses a button on a black box that she pulled out of one of her many pockets. She talks to me about random nonsense until a man with short brown hair, with glasses walks into the room. I feel my muscles lock up as the man walked closer. He stopped at the end of my bed and smiles at me.
"Hello, my name is Doctor Davrinski."
