Junior year
The night before school started, I found myself sitting at the kitchen bar of my dorm, observing a face I only vaguely knew.
He was someone I never normally talked to, a blur of a person I probably passed often in the hallways at school but never really noticed.
Yet right off the bat, conversation was effortless.
It flowed so naturally, so smoothly, and it almost seemed too easy.
This stranger, who had lived a life separate from mine up until this point, surprised me.
It's funny how paths can converge so easily. A person who you never imagined you would meet suddenly pops up and you carry on together, as if you never existed apart.
That was how it all started, both of us so unaware of all that was to come.
You never really realise what you have until it's gone.
