Emmaline heard the elevator doors open and the excited yells of children as they spotted the Avengers. Soon the lobby was full of kids asking the Avengers questions about their powers and asking if they take a picture or get a signature. Through all of the noise Emmaline didn't hear Tony come up behind her, followed by Koralia.
"Emmaline, I think it's a good time to sneak out now," Tony whispered in her left ear.
"Mr. Tony, I can not leave you with all of these people," Emmaline protested as Tony guided her towards the front door.
"J.A.R.V.I.S. is waiting out front, he will drive you home. Koralia make sure your sister gets home alright," Tony said pushing Emmaline out the sliding doors onto the sidewalk in front of the tower.
"Will do Tony. Can I come over again tomorrow?" Koralia asked. Emmaline stood to the side, fuming.
"Oh, just talk about me like I'm not here don't you," Emmaline huffed.
"You can come tomorrow, but don't bring Emmaline in," Tony said.
"Hey!"
"Will do Tony. I'll call when I need pick up," Koralia said to Tony as she pulled Emmaline towards the waiting car. Emmaline was pushed into the car. "J.A.R.V.I.S., can you take us home?"
"Of course Ms. Teller," J.A.R.V.I.S. replied. The car started and headed towards home.
After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence Koralia decided to say something.
"So, who was the handsome dark-haired man you were standing next to?" Koralia asked.
"I don't know," Emmaline responded dryly. "I couldn't tell what color his hair was."
"Oh right," Koralia said, ducking her head to hide her blush from her blind sister. "I'm sorry Sis, I get so used to being around people that can see it just slips out sometimes." Emmaline sighed.
"I know Koralia. I'm not frustrated with you. I'm frustrated with Mr. Stark for kicking me out like I was in danger. Also this one guy was really rude. I was talking to him right before you guys arrived."
"The man next to you?"
"I guess," Emmaline said with a shrug.
"What's his name?" Koralia asked eagerly.
"Loki."
"Loki? The Loki?" Koralia exclaimed.
"I guess. Why? Is he famous?" Emmaline asked. Koralia flinched and lost her enthusiasm under her sister's bright blue gaze.
"I suppose you could say that," Koralia said, trying to avoid making things awkward. Well, even more awkward.
"Do you have a crush on him?" Emmaline teased with a wide smile. Koralia pondered this for a moment.
"I guess he's attractive, but I like Thor more," Koralia answered.
"He's Thor's brother."
"I know," Koralia sighed.
"Excuse the interruption, but we have arrived," J.A.R.V.I.S. said, pulling to a stop.
"Thanks J.A.R.V.I.S.," Koralia said getting out of the car and pulling Emmaline with her.
"My pleasure. Have a good day," the program replied driving away.
Koralia grabbed the seeing stick that Emmaline was gripping and led her sister into their apartment. They had to pay extra to be on the first floor, because it was too hard to climb up the stairs. The apartment complex had an elevator, but it hadn't worked in years. So, Emmaline paid the extra fifty dollars per month to live on the first floor studio apartment.
