Chester was tired by the time he was done with work. Hell, he was exhausted after just one customer at the beginning of the night. Stepping outside, he pulled out a cigarette and flicked his lighter, taking a deep drag of his artificial stress-relief. He was surprised he hadn't heard from Mike all day and figured he was too caught up working or with his wife. A tinge of jealousy flowed through him at the thought of Anna.

Thinking about Mike being all over the woman made him cringe. He actually wondered how he's managed to hide his sexuality from his wife entirely, it seemed impossible, considering how horny he always was. Chester thought Anna seemed nice enough, but couldn't see the reason why Mike would stay with her if he didn't want to be. If he truly wanted Chester, wouldn't Mike say something? Wouldn't he at least leave Anna and try? The thought turned his day more sour by the minute, one of his hands feeling up the bruise on his right arm.

'Get ahold of yourself,' Chester thought to himself. 'Mike's just using you for sex, what's new about that? Nothing, so get yourself together and stop being jealous.'

But he couldn't quit. He kept thinking about how great Mike's life really was and how the other man seemed to fail at noticing it. He had a great job that seemed flexible, a wife that loved him, a nice place to live, not addicted to drugs or alcohol - he was totally free compared to the life Chester was living.

Chester was addicted to several drugs, worked at a job he hated - a job that would have him sobbing in bed because of the pain for days if it was rough enough - and lived with an ex girlfriend who mooched off the little money he had. He envied Mike for living a life he knew he could never had and wondered how he could take that for granted. The only real issue he had was his sexuality, another thing Chester had to deal with on his own years ago.

His phone began ringing and he sighed deeply, fumbling with his cigarette to balance it while answering the phone at the same time. He tugged it out of his pocket and answered without checking who it was, assuming it was Mike.

"Yeah?"

"Hi, Chester," Anna's voice said through the phone and Chester felt as though his stomach dropped. He quickly put out the cigarette and started walking home a bit faster, as he was feeling paranoid. No matter how jealous he could get of Mike, he didn't want him to get into any trouble with his wife.

"Anna? Hi," Was all he could say, unsure even how she got ahold of his number. "How'd you get my number?"

"I stopped by your house, a kind lady gave it to me," She hummed and he frowned, cursing Samantha silently. "I know about your job."

"M-My job? What do you mean?" He asked, unsure how much she knew at this point. He heard her sigh deeply.

"What are you doing with my Mike? Does he know?" She asked and Chester realized that she knew all about his job, but nothing about his connection with Mike - to which he was thankful for.

"No," He quickly decided to lie. "No, he doesn't. I work part-time with him and that's how we met, he knows nothing about... Yeah."

"Well, know that what I think you're doing is horrible and I'd like you to stop talking with Mike and quit your job with him. I care about him too much to just sit aside and watch him get mixed up with a crowd like yours - druggies and alcoholics," She murmured, offending Chester, who had to bite his lip to keep from lashing out. "If you don't stay away from my husband, I'll be forced to talk with the police about you."

"Okay, I'll cut all ties," He said, unsure if he actually would or not. "I'm sorry for everything."

"Don't apologize, just get out of our lives," She snapped and hung up, Chester's eyes stinging with tears as he slipped his phone back in his pocket and went for another cigarette.

'Just a stupid fucking prostitute,' He thought sourly. 'Nobody wants you, except for sex. Now what? Mike threatened to contact the police if I didn't agree to his deal and now his wife is threatening to call them if I don't stay away from him. I can't win.'

Chester sighed, debating whether or not he should call Mike as he took a drag of his cigarette, sliding the lighter back into his pocket. He shivered slightly under the dark sky, rain beginning to pound down on him. He groaned loudly, as he didn't even have a sweatshirt on, just a short-sleeved shirt. His eyes had grown accustomed to the dark and stung as headlights came into view and parked next to him. At first, he was paranoid someone was about to kill him or take him, but bit his lip when the window rolled down and he saw Mike - the rain pounding down harder on Chester, who was now soaked.

Mike stepped out of his car and went up to Chester, taking off the sweatshirt he was wearing and wrapping it around him, opening the passenger door and gesturing for Chester to get inside. Chester went, watching as Mike closed the door after him, getting in on the driver's side afterward. Mike blasted the heater for Chester, who was already shivering from the freezing rain.

"I was driving home from work and saw you, thought you needed a ride," Mike explained quickly and Chester just nodded, not wanting to talk about Anna. He didn't bother to buckle his seatbelt and instead laid his head on Mike's shoulder as he drove, Mike taking one of his hands and playing with Chester's hair. "Your home?"

"Yeah," Was all he could mutter and Mike swung his car around, heading towards Chester's place.

"Want me to stay?" Mike asked as they drove, feeling Chester shake his head. Mike just figured he had a long day and wouldn't press. They pulled up in front of the house and Chester went to take off Mikes's sweatshirt, but was stopped. "No, no. Keep it."

"Thank you," Chester murmured and climbed out of the car, heading towards the house as Mike tried not to think about why his lover was so quiet.
