Time's Up
"Come on," Lisa grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the crystal blue water in front of us, eager to jump into the ocean on the French Riviera.
My short legs kept up with her pace and soon we jumped off the cliff, free falling. My stomach tightened as the wind rushed between my hair. Fear, excitement, and happiness ran through my veins as I took a leap of faith to let gravity do its job to bring me down to the crystal blue water underneath.
I held my breath before I pinched my nose just seconds before my toes touched the warm water. I opened my eyes under water, seeing Lisa giving me a thumbs up and a wide smile before she began to swim back to shore. I moved my arms and paddled my feet, swimming up for air. I gasped once I reached the surface. Still padding my feet, I lifted my hands, pushed back my wet hair and looked ahead. I looked down and noticed the timer on my wrist had changed. The days had been replaced by minutes on the countdown. My heart picked up knowing my soulmate was there on shore.
I quickly paddled my feet and moved my arms towards the shore, passing Lisa. My mind was racing. Did he notice his timer was ticking closer to 00:00 too? Was he walking and looking around for a girl who was possibly looking for him on the beach too? Or was he letting fate take its course?
My feet touched the sand and I quickly walked out as fast I could without letting the waves slow me down. I covered my eyes from the sun, trying to find my soulmate. There were too many guys on the beach to know who was meant to be with me for the rest of my life.
I looked down at my wrist and the timer was down to 10 seconds. I traced over the numbers with my thumb and took a deep breath. This was it. There is no turning back and no going back in time.
I noticed a pair of bare feet in front of mine. I swallowed hard, knowing my soulmate had found me and is standing in front of me. 00:00 was blinking at my wrist and then suddenly numbers glowed. I knew once I looked up I'd finally meet the boy I've been waiting and dreaming about since I first got my timer at 13.
He cleared his throat, obviously nervous and motioning me to look up at him. My eyes slowly trailed up from his bare feet to his knees, all the way to hem of his maroon swim trunks. My eyes traced along his deep V outline before landing on his happy trail and then up his belly button. His stomach was tight, prefect with abs that make me want to trace it with my fingertips. My eyes moved over to his arms and were muscular, his cuts obvious in his bi and triceps. I lingered around his broad shoulders and up his neck. Slowly, I noticed his impressive jawline, his thin lips, and his perfect nose. My eyes immediately locked with his perfect, crystal blue eyes, putting the clear blue ocean I just swam through to shame. His wet brown curly hair was stuck to his forehead, somehow making him even sexier.
"Hi," his lips tugged into a smirk, one that absolutely had me weak in the knees. How is it possible that one person can literally take your breath away?
"Hi," I smiled back, feeling my cheeks get hot.
He grabbed my wrist, his touch sending a white-hot flame through my body. He rubbed where my timer was with the pad of his thumb. I looked at his and his was also blinking 00:00. Suddenly, our timers flashed once more before they disappeared instantly. I looked up at my soul mate, who immediately locked his eyes with mine. His eyes were so soft and genuine. I didn't need a timer to know I had found my soulmate. Looking in his eyes, I knew I had found the love of my life.
"I'm Isaac," he introduced himself.
"Y/N." I smiled.
First Date
"Is there anything else I can get you two?" The waiter said with a thick Italian accent after placing our pasta plates in front of us.
