Why even try
When failure waits at the end?
Why give it your all
When your goals are all pretend?
Thought there was a chance
But you were mistaken
That prize you fought for?
Its already been taken.
The journey was tough
It was hard, it was rough
But that sacred destination
Was just your imagination.
Ran all day
Ran all night
Never gave in
You’d always fight
But the princess in the tower never showed up
The treasure chest had had enough
You wasted your time
And all you got was the feeling
Of trying so hard
For nothing at all.
