They say they will always be there for you. That they'll never ever leave you. But that's a lie. Kiara Jenson knows the truth. She knows that people will come and go, and to trust no one. Her parents left her at the age of 4. Her brother, at the time, was 18. He put her in an orphanage and moved to Paris with his girlfriend. She left him.

Now Kiara is 16. She is moving. Again. Why? Because she got moved to a different family. Leaving her best friend is the hardest part. Matt Peterson is the only real friend she has had, even if she didn't put all of her trust in him. Now she is leaving him. She hates moving. It ruins the fragile shell she creates wherever she goes. But now she's moving to Oregon. Apperently the greenest state in the U.S.

He loves his family. They say they love him, but Devon Asher know better. He knows not to let anyone close to his heart. Not after his father left him. At the age of 13 his father was hit by a car and died instantly. This tragic event changed Devon for the worse.
