New school, new people

(Kiara's POV)

Walking through those double doors is always the hardest part of going to a new school. Why? Because you have to have enough confidence in yourself to do it.

I do this so often I'm not effected anymore. I make my way to the office, hoping that I can stay at this school long enough to graduate from high school. I'm a junior right now, which means one more year of Hell after this.

Once I've gotten my schedule from the office I go to my locker, number 156. I leave everything that I do not need for the morning classes there and close it, twisting the dial. I walk to my first period class, History.

The teacher, Mr. Dufer, tells me to introduce myself and to tell the class something interesting about me.

"I'm Kiara. Kiara Jensen. I was born in London and lived there with my parents and older brother until I was 4. Then my parents left and never came back. My brother then put me into an orphanage where I soon got chosen to go live in Bradford, London. That should explain the accent. I have lived with many different people and I've gone to many different schools. Thank you." I finish and look around to see everyone staring at me.

I look some people in the eyes as I walk to one of the only two empty seats remaining. Just as I sit down a guy walks into the room, obviously late and not caring. He sits next to me and I take in his appearance out of the corner of my eye. He has ear-length blonde hair and extremely blue-grey eyes. His hair is styled into that I-just-got-out-of-bed-but-I'm-doing-this-on-purpose-to-look-cool way.

At first I decide not to speak to him, but then everything changes...

(Devon's POV)

I see her right when I walk in. She has pure black hair with dark purple streaks in it and amazing electric blue eyes. She sits alone next to my usual seat. I keep my face emotionless as I sit, noticing her studying my appearance.

I clear my throat and look at her. "Hello. I'm Devon Asher."

"I'm Kiara Jensen." She glances at me, then focuses on the lesson. She's going to have a hard time making friends with that attitude.
