My whole life, I've had to look out for my younger sibling. I've had to keep them safe from the world, but most of all I've had to keep them safe from my father. He has a problem with addiction but he has an even bigger problem with taking his anger out on me and my younger sibling. My mother died a long time ago, and going to the authorities has never helped. I'm so scared that they're going to split my sibling and me up.
That's why, I came up with a plan. My plan is to take my sibling and all the supplies I can carry, and to disappear into the forest on the edge of town. There, we can start a new life together without anyone bothering us.
There's just one problem: The forest doesn't turn out to be the pristine and untouched Eden I was expecting it to be.
There are other people out here. Dangerous people. People that don't want their home disturbed.
And these people are after us.
