PUTO INGREDIENTS:

3 teaspoon yeast

3/4 cup water

2 cups sifted cake flour

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 egg whites

1/4 cup sugar

Cheese, sliced

PUTO PROCEDURES:

Prepare a steamer and several small muffin pans.

Dissolve yeast in water.

Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder.

Pour in dissolved yeast. Set aside.

In a bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Add sugar and continue beating until stiff. Fold in the yeast mixture. Pour into pans the let ferment for 10 – 20 minutes.

Top with slices cheese. Steam for about 10 – 15 minutes. Brush with butter before serving.
