"In which Jihoon falls for his best friend, who's in love with someone he least expected."

"Jihoonie!"

Soonyoung called out to the smaller framed boy. He entered the younger's studio in a swift move, avoiding making loud noises because he knows how much Jihoon hates distraction while working.

The taller sat down on the familiar sofa next to the boy who was currently sitting on his spin chair, all curled up into a ball, facing the monitor in front of him.

He called out his name out loud for the second time, making sure that Jihoon hears him this time.

"What is it Soonyoung?" Jihoon nonchalantly said, not paying that much attention to the bigger guy beside him.

"Want to have lunch with me and Seokmin? We're going out today, and he thought of tagging you along," He pauses, eyeing the whole place. "Considering that you've been stuck down here for the past four days."

"Come on, this'll be fun!"

Jihoon can already hear the excitement in the older's voice when he mentioned Seokmin. He saddened at the thought. Seokmin, as always.

Valentine's day was just around the corner and Seventeen's Vocal unit agreed to do a song collaboration with Yoon Jong Shin. Being a part of Jong Shin's "Monthly Project" was a huge thing for them. The second they heard about Jong Shin's proposal to them, they said yes right away.

This resulted to Jihoon being extra busy that week. He was asked to produce the song in which he gladly accepted. He's almost done with all the editing when Soonyoung entered his studio asking if he would like to eat lunch with Seokmin and him, to which he refuses.

It's not like he didn't want to come.

He badly wanted to but of course with his unfinished song and SoonSeok's potential 'date', he said no.

Now he's all alone in his studio again, listening to the song he was fiddling. He smiled bitterly as he found himself singing along to the lyrics.

"I didn't know how breathtaking, how addicting you would be." He sang.

He remembered how he wrote this song a few days ago. Jong Shin gave him a theme, a theme fitting the upcoming famous yearly event for lovers and people in love. This year, it was quite different:

Unrequited love.

As soon as Jong Shin gave him the theme, he chuckled bitterly earning a confused look on the older's face. He brushed it off, saying that he can work out the song perfectly with the idea; leaving out the fact that he can easily relate to it.
