I stood there awkwardly alone, not quite knowing what to do; my eyes fell to the floor, trying to focus on something so I didn't look like a lost puppy. I was almost in a trance, staring at the mix of daisies and blades of fresh, green grass. The key word here is 'almost'. A pair of black shoes stepped into my vision, making me blink a few times and take a deep breath.

"...Mitch?!" A familiar voice, who I'm guessing was of the owner of the black shoes, exclaimed.

My eyes drifted up and met a sea of blue and twinkles.

Drowning. I couldn't think of a worse way to die; the sudden inability to do something so simple strikes fear into my heart but when I looked into his eyes, all that fear just washed away. I became engulfed in the tranquil ocean, swimming with all the twinkles and stolen glances. Suddenly, the inability to breathe doesn't force fear to course through my veins, but excitement.

He smirked at me and ran his fingers through his blonde hair.

"Scott?! What are you doing here?"

"Oh, my friends were coming and I just tagged along. How have you been?" He asked, shyly.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him.

"Oh, just shut up and kiss me"

He gladly followed my order, eliminating the space between us and resting his hands on my hips as mine framed his face. I couldn't believe I was here, I couldn't believe he was here, I couldn't believe I was, once again, kissing my Scott.

We held onto each other so tightly, as though the world would end and we would disappear if we let go. So we didn't.

It felt like electricity soared though my body when he touched me, and being this close, kissing him, was like I was on fire. But the heat was soothing. It was like coming inside after a day out in the snow. Your fingers are almost blue, your body shakes strongly with the numbing cold. And then you sit by the fire which is burning brightly, spreading its warmth to everything around it. That is exactly was it was like being in his arms again.

It was like home.

"Mitch, we need to talk" he says, his voice filling the empty air of the school bathroom. I don't like his tone, at all.

I turn, giving him my full attention and encourage him to carry on with a small smile that didn't quite reach my eyes.

"Are you- are you cheating on me?"

The question knocks the air out of my lungs. It takes me a second to process what he had said to me. His words linger in the air like a bad smell.

"What?" It was all I could say, all I could manage to say.

"You and Avi, are you cheating on me with him?" He asks again, his voice unchanging.

A small chuckle leaves my lips. That's hilarious, does he not realise how hilarious he sounded? I look at him as I laugh and watch his eyebrows furrow and his face twist.

"So that's a yes, right? I mean, why else would you hesitate and laugh?"

"He's my best friend!"

"And what difference does that make?"

"Are you serious right now? You really think that I would cheat on you with Avi?"

"I think that you're keeping things from me"

"No I'm not. I'm keeping things from Avi because you won't let me tell him about us"
