Forget everything you thought you knew about vampires, for instance the fangs only came out when we are 'thirsty', we CAN come out in the sunlight without looking like a glitter bomb, and we really do have blood. We don't store it in our body's like you pathetic humans, we keep it in really deep underground caves. It acts like our hearts, if the blood gets burned we die. Our blood is a thick, black gooey, liquid and thankfully it has a number of ways to defend its self, even if it means to kill... BUT if it touches a mortal human they develop some... unusual powers.
