You have reached the voicemail box of B-L-A-C-K lives matter. Sorry we are unable to answer the phone, but we are currently in a war. A war not only physically but also against the white man and his psychological standards. Black lives matter; a derogatory statement or a terror-like exclamation? Black Lives Matter. There has been controversy on the subject of Black Lives Matter as a prominent movement or a terror group. While individuals on both sides of the argument have done their share of right and wrong, it is not safe to say that just black lives matter; all lives do.
The root of the problem lay somewhere in history. It all began with slavery which left many African Americans feeling inadequate and unable to fulfill a life of their own. Many people thought that slavery was over for good around the late 1900's. Despite anti-slavery acts set in place, racism still lay within the hearts of many Americans today. Racism is far deeper than just white against black or black against white. It is the entity that leaves this nation crippled because it fails to see the worth of every individual. This nation, as a whole, is quick to judge a book by its cover instead of reading the book to indicate its morals. We cannot place a stamp on a people collectively because this war is fought independently. The outcome for every person is determined by their own actions.
Tim Constantine once wrote, "We do not have to look to the Middle East anymore to find real life evidence of terrorism, right here in the United States there is a group called Black Lives Matter. Terrorism: the use of violence and threats to intimidate. It is often said that what is understood does not have to be explained; however, America has proven time and time again that there is a lack of understanding. Black Lives Matter stands as a living and solid explanation. Media for some time now has falsely publicized the unruly encounters of the African American and the white man. Mostly all of the advertisements have deemed the black man unjust. However, there is much danger within a single story. Media has also made the white man the definitive. While the single story may seem powerful, it lacks the principle; the black man's voice.
Fault is not only found within the white man but also within the lives that are supposed to "matter" the most. One is quick to speak up and to speak out; yet, he or she fails to speak on what really matters. Conflict arises not to find fault within one individual but to teach both sides what can be changed or done better. "There is a thin line between 'nigga' and 'nigger'," (Anastasia Taylor). When one understands that principle, they have cracked the code. It is okay for one to demean and kill off their own race but when another race carries out this act, it is called 'racism'. This is only because some of the same feelings of inadequacy that existed during slavery are still present today. Some of the African American community is still bound by shackles with their feet nailed to the floor. No, it is not entirely the African Americans' fault that they are shackled; however, the tools for them to break free are right in front of them. They have decided to let the shackles rust; expecting them to break on their own.

A war not only physically but also against every man and his psychological standards. Let not the African Americans forget that slavery was not limited to them and racism still isn't. All Lives Matter. In addition, let not the white man forget that blacks will not be silenced due to the dislikings of people. Here it is, the coming of the Lord, and eyes have yet to see the glory. "Breathe out, breathe in; America," (Areial Thomas).
