Mitch woke up to "Defying Gravity" blasting in his ear. He groaned as he rolled over, grabbing his phone and tapping randomly, not paying attention to what he was doing. When it didn't shut up, he sat up in bed and glared at the phone, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light. When "Scooty Hooying" (his latest name for the boy) showed up on the screen, he quickly swiped across , putting the phone to his ear. "Whadd'ya want now Samantha?" he said sassily.
"I'm at Starbucks, do you want anything other than the usual?"
He groaned "Really Scott? That's why you woke me up?"
"Michelle, it's the middle of the day get your ass down to Starbucks. I have a surprise for you, I'll be waiting!" Scott hung up before Mitch could get another word in. Mitch sighed and got up. He wondered what Scott's surprise could be, but quickly dismissed it. It was probably just an evil plan to get him down to Starbucks. He got dressed quickly, laughing to himself at how full of energy his best friend can be in the morning. It was annoying, but he adored the boy so it didn't bother him that much. He made sure to feed Wyatt before leaving the house, food usually kept Wyatt of out of his room and that's all he wanted. He made his way down to Starbucks, smiling when he spotted Scott, and walking over to him. But Scott wasn't the only one sitting at the table. Mitch stopped walking and felt his mouth drop open when the familiar green eyes looked into his own. It felt like he was looking inside him. Like he knew everything Mitch was thinking. Like he could control him. Like he owned him.
"Mark" he whispered under his breath. He looked over at Scott, who was glancing back and forth at the both of them, a proud smile on his face. And suddenly, Mitch couldn't breathe.
