Chapter 11 – Tears
(Louis’ POV)
I hummed a little bit as I walked down the narrow hallway and stopped at Niall’s door, pushing all thoughts of Liam out of my head. The door was cracked open a tad bit so I pushed it open completely and saw an empty room. I frowned and walked over to his desk. He probably just went across the hall to use the loo. I yawned and spun around slightly in his chair, trying to entertain myself and make time go by faster.
A paper fell down to the ground from Niall’s desk and when I reached down to grab it, I couldn’t help but skim it, my curiosity getting the best of me. The paper dropped from my hands as I finished reading it. I didn’t want to believe it.
Niall was gay…and he was telling Zayn Malik before me.
Is this some kind of sick joke? Did Harry write this to try to be funny? Well, I’m not laughing, Styles. I grabbed the note again and reread it for about the fiftieth time. As much as I hated to admit it, this was definitely Niall’s handwriting. Slightly messy and crooked but still legible.
This doesn’t even add up! Niall…gay? No, it’s not possible. And why would he tell Zayn before me?! I’m his older brother; I practically raised him for God’s sake! And instead of telling me, he goes and tells some bad boy wannabe? I knew Zayn was bad news the moment Niall brought him home. He’s trying to replace me as Niall’s best friend and that’s not okay.
I didn’t even realize the tears that had started to form and run down my face until I heard the bedroom door creak open. I looked up from the note and saw Niall looking at me. His face was a mix of shock and guilt as he saw me and the paper in my hands.
“Louis…”
He started to walk towards me but I stood up immediately and wiped the tears from my eyes quickly. I shoved the note into his hands and tried to stop the tears that just kept forming. I started to walk out of his room but I felt a hand grab my shoulder.
“Lou, please just listen to me!” I heard Niall whimper. I didn’t even need to look; I knew he was crying too now.
“I think you’ve already said enough, Niall.”

(Harry’s POV)
“C’mon Louis…” I groaned as I waited impatiently for the older lad to come running down the stairs towards me.
I sat up on the couch, making a face at the mess that was thrown lazily all around me. Louis was such a slob sometimes. I couldn’t help but cough uncomfortably as I felt my lower region start to tingle. I’d been waiting for Louis for about ten minutes now and I felt like I was going to explode. My growing erection started to sting a little bit and I sighed. I was really regretting cutting off our snogging session so that Lou could go talk to Niall. Trying to entertain myself, I got up and headed towards the kitchen to make some tea; that always seemed to calm junior down.
I took the kettle out and one of teabags, making sure it was a kind that Lou didn’t care for as much so he wouldn’t notice. I filled the kettle with cool water, making sure only to fill it three quarters of the way full and set it on the stove top. The flame flickered slightly underneath as it started to warm the kettle.
“You taught me well, Lou.” I chuckled at the countless memories I had of watching Louis make us tea in this very kitchen. Although he may not know the difference between parsley and basil, he was pretty badass at making tea. It was about the only thing he could really make in the kitchen.
I leaned against the kitchen table and started to hum softly as I waited for the whistling of the kettle to signal that the water was done. I had to admit, I was quite curious on how it was going upstairs. Did Louis chicken out? No, he wouldn’t again, he’s probably telling Niall now about us.
