Impermanence. The word that meant that nothing lasted forever, and that everything must bend and eventually break. Sarah was beginning to know that word way too well. She wished she didn't, but it was inevitable.
Someone in Lakewood was making sure nothing was permanent, and it was all just getting started. And as much as Sarah wanted to break down crying, she had to be there for Noah... all because of what happened a few hours earlier.

"Aren't you coming in?" Sarah asked the Fitzgerald boy, unbuckling her seatbelt and preparing to run into the station. Jake sat still in the drivers seat, his eyes travelling to every movement the petite brunette beside him was making. He shook his head. "We need to be together. This is the moment all of our problems go away!"
"Not all of them. Look, Will needs me for something real quick. I promise I'll come back later for everyone. Just, we need to figure some stuff out." Jake had both hands on the steering wheel, his eyes staring now directly at Sarah's.
"About Tyler?"
"Yes. I'm sorry. But I promise: I'll be back." Jake flashed his smile to her and moved his eyes to the door he wanted her to open. Sarah caught the hint and sighed. She nodded and climbed from the truck. She waved a small goodbye, but Jake's tires were already skidded down the road. She furrowed her eyebrows, but she didn't dwell on it long. Her legs rapidly ran to the entrance, and she looked for her friends.
"Hi, Emma Duvall?" Sarah questioned the woman at the front desk. The woman pointed left and there was Emma, Riley and Brooke all sitting together. Sarah began to walk more quickly to her friends. "Hey! Are you guys okay? What's going on? I heard they found Tyler!"
"I'm going to get a water." Riley scoffed and walked away from Sarah and the other two blondes. Sarah turned to Emma with a confused look on her face.
"Don't ask. Yes, we're fine." Emma stated. The three girls looked at one another before someones cell phone chimed. Sarah nearly jumped out of her skin, her body in a jumpy state from the worry of not only Tyler, but the outburst she had on her dad and what their relationship would be like now... and also the fact that Jake and her kissed.
"Jesus. When this is over, we need a spa day." Brooke sighed. Sarah chuckled and had a seat between Emma and Brooke, the place Riley was sitting in just a few moments ago. Brooke paused and looked around. "It's my dad. I'll be back." Emma and Sarah nodded and Brooke walked away.
Sarah crossed her legs on the seat and watched cops scurry around, while Emma was solely on her cell-phone. The anticipation was eating away at her. If things went well and Tyler was caught, she would have the answer to who wrote the note, and she wouldn't have to worry about being murdered. It all counted on the plan they had to capture him.
"So, how are you, S?" Emma placed the phone in between her legs and turned to the brunette looking distractedly at the secretary giving orders to new cops on the night shift.
"I'm fine." Sarah smiled, but not with her teeth. She didn't have the motion in her.
Emma sighed, noticing Sarah not quite wanting to talk much. "So, what's going on with you and Jake?"
And that last word gave Sarah whiplash from awaking from her thoughts. "What do you mean?"
"You and him just seem to be getting closer. He talks about you non-stop, and then the basketball game... You two would be cute." Emma attempted to start a happy, friendship conversation. Sarah just felt like she was being interrogated.
"We're just friends, Em. I swear. There is nothing going on between Fitzgerald and I." Sarah exasperatedly sighed. She knew it wasn't true. She had a mini-make-out session with the guy minutes before arriving at the station. Not only that but, he had been there for her a lot more these past few days, which got her beginning to catch feelings for him... too quick to keep up with.
