Rebecca tried to position herself as close to the twin brothers as possible to complete the target identification process. The bar was extremely crowded. It seemed like the more she tried to close in on her elusive targets, the further away they would wonder away from her, amidst the crowd. Their unified movements within the bar, appeared to be almost calculated and deliberate. She became extremely wary and suspicious of their movements.
The social scientist was unable to accurately determine the overall threat analysis provided by the twin brothers. The sheer number of patrons, closely interacting with one another within the confines of this establishment, made this task virtually impossible for her to achieve.
Rebecca Hainsworth always completed her mission, the concept of failure while operating within a hostile environment was totally alien to her.
Visual observation of the targets, coupled with continued behavioral assessment was producing little or no results for this accomplished profiler and Paraphilia’s specialist.
The twins mysteriously exited Stiletto's Sports Bar as quickly as they had entered it. They were there for approximately thirty-three minutes by her count, and she was unable to establish positive contact with her targets.
By the time she had reached the front door, they had enigmatically disappeared. She walked quickly out onto the sidewalk of Roxbury Street and looked up and down the street, despairingly.
Besides the normal sidewalk and street activity for a busy Friday night, her persons of interest were unaccounted for and managed to slip away from her surveillance. Her targets were gone.
She quickly pulled out her cell phone and notified headquarters immediately. This night was nothing more than an exercise in futility for her. The only positive outcome that she could report to headquarters about this covert operation, was there was now conclusive video evidence to prove that there were now two potential suspects walking the streets of San Pedro freely, where yesterday, there was only one.
Fourteen days had passed without another homicide within this beautiful section of Southern Los Angeles County, and there were no signs of the twin brothers, anywhere. They had disappeared as quickly as they had arrived on the scene.
Increased police patrols could be seen on the streets of San Pedro, and within Point Fermin Park, as they were desperately trying to apprehend and question a perverse and psychotic, mad man.
Chaplain Lee was busy working at his desk when he received the call at 8:45 am. “Hello, yes, I know where the military museum is located, did anyone tell Lieutenant Pettinger, yet? OK, assemble the team, I will be there in approximately thirteen minutes, and seal the area completely, especially from the press.” he reluctantly said. He continued, “OK, and make sure someone contacts Rebecca Hainsworth, have her meet us at the crime scene, I want her to see first hand what this son of a bitch is capable of doing!”
As he stood up slowly, he remained half hunched over his desk and looked painstakingly at the ceiling, as he rubbed his hand over his brow. “Oh my God, not another one,” as he quickly left his office.
Chaplain Lee was there in less than ten minutes, he had pushed his squad car to its limits, through the winding roads and thoroughfares of San Pedro, unsure what despicable horror lay in wait for him on the other side.
When he arrived at the designated location, the two police officers greeted him at the blockade, and directed him to side of the Fort MacArthur Military Museum, at 3601 South Gaffey Street, that lays directly adjacent to Point Fermin Park.
The lead officer stated, as he was walking him to the left side of the building, “This one was just too unbearable for me to look at, rigor mortis has set in prematurely, the time of death is placed at approximately 12:30p.m. last night, by our forensic team.”
He also stated, “It would appear that death was inflicted like the others. Air was injected directly into the Venous System, by veterinary hypodermic needle. It looks like the needle was thrust into the victims neckline on the right side, causing a massive coronary thrombosis within several minutes of contact.”
Chaplain Lee was listening intently and nodded as the officer spoke. He continued his long and dreary walk to the victims location. Chaplain Lee noticed that the grass surrounding the military museum was well manicured and readily maintained, amidst this reprehensible and indignant atmosphere.
As he approached the body, he could see the yellow outline already drawn around the victim by the forensic team. Rebecca Hainsworth was dressed in casual athletic sweats and sneakers, unlike her fashionable wardrobe from the previous night.
Chaplain Lee approached the body very circumspectly. It was a young girl, with dirty blond hair, approximately twenty nine years of age, dressed in the usual Stiletto's Sports Bar attire. Her body was positioned face down along the side of an azalea bush, which was indigenous to Point Fermin Park.
Her left stiletto heel was missing, and it looked like her pantyhose had been ripped completely off of her left leg only. Very minute scratch marks could be seen, with a slight trickling dried blood pattern, where the perpetrator had ripped the pantyhose material off of her left leg, violently. It looked like she had put up great resistance.
