The adrenaline rush flows through my veins as I cradle the football and leap over the opposing players attempting to tackle me.
My helmet presses against my bun, which ill admit, is giving me a serious head ache right now.
Oh have I mentioned I'm a girl? And on the football team? Take that! You ignorant sexists that think girls can't do anything!
I scored the touchdown as the timer get off for the end of the 4th quarter and I did my little victory dance on my way back to the locker room
"Good job Lorraine, you never fail yo impress me," Coach Marcus says
"Thanks coach. Its all in the boobs," I say as I laugh and walk towards my brother, who everyone thinks is on the field, when in reality its me
"Hey sis you did good," Isaiah says playfully punching my shoulder.
"Thanks. Now if you don't mind I'm gonna go change," I say. I walk to the corner where the guys were ever so kind to build me a makeshift changing room and change into joggers and a mint tee shirt that says "you wish"
I walk out and receive various cat calls from the other idiots.
"Alright you doofus's that's enough," I say
"Sorry Zia," the reply
"Excuse me?" I question raising an eyebrow
"Sorry Ziala," they say and we all crack up at how serious they sound
"Alright team. Our next came is against the Jays so I need y'all to work extra hard. Ill see you guys Monday," he says waving us all out.
We walk to the bleachers or to wherever our ride is. So happenly
Mine is waiting outside the locker roon"Hey babe," he say wrapping his arm around my shoulder and kissing my temple
"Hey doofus," I say
"Alright so where are we gonna eat after your amazing win?" He asks
"I was thinking the new cafe that just opened?" I ask
"Sure Z lets go," he says running off. We did this regularly, race to his car to see who paid. He always pays anyway so I don't see the point.
I race past him slamming into his car, not purposely.
"D*** you beat me again Z," he says laughing
"Don't feel so defeated Jordan, I always win," I say laughing
"That's Mr Wallace to you young lady," he days holding a straight face as long as possibly before breaking I to a grin
We get into his car and turn om the heat, its winter okay? In freezing.
"Alright the cafe is by coach's house isn't it?" He asks
"Yeah," I say
"Alright. To the cafe!" He says dramatically. I turn on the radio and he grabs my free hand, while driving with the other.
"Isn't it crazy to think were seniors? And we've been dating for 5 years? And I'm not the one playing football?" He asks and we both laugh.
"it is I guess. But I think from the start I planned on marrying you," I said looking up at him and smiling
"And I think for the start I planned on buying you a ring and getting on one knee and asking you to be mine forever," he says returning the look and then turning back to the road. I leaned over the console and laid y head on his shoulder until we got to the cafe.
