Cheer Tryouts

Tori and i drove for 45 minutes to get to the gym. when we arrived i walked in and changed while tori got the coaches prepared for me by telling them how i was on the Cheer Athletics Cheetahs Worlds team last year. i came out and found 2 girls and Tori standing there with the coaches and i realized i was being able to tryout as a flyer. Thank you Tori! i walk over but i decide to do a double back handspring when i make it to the girls. the coaches look impressed. i smiled and i see one of the girls giving me an evil glare. what did i do to her? "OK ms. Flexibility. stop showing off." Tori said sarcastically. i laughed and we started with a simple basket toss. when i hit that, i did a 'scorpion' and 'bow and arrow' all in one session. when i managed to hit those i was tossed into a pike and i twisted into a scale.  i managed to hit every stunt i was given and i went in to start my gymnastics portion of the tryouts. i did a Jump to tuck and handsprings to twisting as my standing tumbling and Full and double twists and some specialty passes for my running tumbling. when finished and i hit every part i went and did some conditioning with the other girls . We were running lines and stretching out for our jumps we're going to do later on. when i got up the others did to even the girl that made the evil glare at me. what is her problem? i continued to stretch out and i start with a tuck jump into a pike finalizing with a hurdler. i was finally ready to see my results of the try outs.

2 hours later....

"2 hours... why does it take 2 hours to find out if i made the team? Usually its only 45 minutes but 2 hours!" i complain and am pacing the mats. "take it easy, Allie. you're going to burn a hole in the mats and you know how it feels to be on a mat with no padding remember when we were in the lions. you tore that mat up and we had to practice on that until coach Derrick Jackson." Tori said sitting on the mat in front of me. i breathed in then out. i really wanted to scream but that would be an unprofessional cheerleader as coach Zac Brannon would say to us when we would scream at each other for the mess ups. "You're right. it'll be fine ill be on the team, but what if i'm not i'm not joining the school team they always think they are better than they really are and they call themselves cheerleaders. i cant drop my ego so low." i say hyperventilating. finally, after waiting for 2 and a half hours, the coaches walk out of their office with a straight face on all of them. "Well Allie.... the other coaches and i have discussed your tryout and...... Congratulations, you made the team. welcome to the Tiger Elite Cheer!" they told me and i jumped up and hugged Tori. I had made it!
