"I told my mom," Flynn says as we are exiting the school.
"Great." I say in a monotonous voice.
Two weeks have passed since we had dinner at Flynn's house the first time. Yep, I did say the first time. Mom and Alice have stayed true to their promise of having our families together for dinner once of week. Speaking of, tonight is our usual night.
"I would tell your mom because I know that is all my mom is going to want to talk about at dinner." Flynn replies.
"I wish there was any way We could get out of dinner tonight." I say and sigh. "They are never going to stop taking about it and we are just going to have to be feeding into the lie."
"I know one way that we could get out of dinner." Flynn says with a smirk. "We could go on a date."
"Excuse me?" I say with a puzzled look on my face.
"Isn't that a thing most couples do?" He says with a hint of playfulness in his voice.
"I mean, I guess, but we aren't a real couple. I am just being blackmailed into the deal, after all." I retort.
"And this doesn't have to be a 'real date'" he says, using air quotes.
"And how do you suppose we pull this off?"
"We would both tell our moms that we are going on a date, and they would be so excited that that wouldn't mind us missing dinner." He says looking proud of his plan.
Not feeling like arguing with him anymore, I agree, and then we go our separate ways to our own cars.

"YOU'RE DOING WHAT?!" My mom says in excitement.
"Im going on a date with Flynn, mom. Calm down, It's no big deal." I say in a bored voice.
"Oh Yes it most certainly is! I knew this would happen! I'm so excited for you!" She says, While beaming.
"It's just one date mom. It's not like we are getting married or anything."
"You never know!" Mom says back.
"Whatever. I've got to go do homework. I'll let you know when I leave." I say to her, as I start to head up the stairs.

30 minutes into homework, I hear tapping at my window.
I get up out of my chair and walk over to the window and draw back my curtains.
When I open my window, I see flynn sitting at his window throwing small pieces of paper, to get my attention.
"What do you need?" I reply in an annoyed voice.
"We are leaving at 6. Our parents are supposed to meet at 6:30, so that will give us time to escape before the questions start." he says.
"Ok. See you then. But just letting you know, my mom is already freaking out." I say in reply.
"Mine too. She keeps going on about how you are such a 'wonderful girl'. If she doesn't stop, I think I may puke." He says in a disgusted tone.
"Wow. Thanks. See you later." I say as I shut my window, annoyed.
It's one thing that Im having to do this, but he could at least be a little nice towards me.
