Julian stares at the horde of teenagers fighting on the front yard, most of them wielding swords; Gladius's and Spatha's being the most common of the ones that Julian can see, there are some other types he can't identify, probably ones that aren't Greek or Roman. The look on his face is something akin to shock mixed with panic with a healthy dose of 'what the fuck' thrown into the mix. Hades must have noticed because he laughs, pats Julian on the back and says loudly.
"It's alright, son, this is quite normal here. No one gets hurt, special swords made by Hephaestus that don't cause damage." Hades laughs again and picks up Julian's bags as though they are mere paperweights, hurting Julian's pride a little bit. They make their way through the throng of teenagers who are all trying to win this mock fight.
They get to the front doors of the grand house, and are met by a woman who must be 'supervising' the fight that is slowly getting out of hand. Hades smiles at her and says something to low for Julian to hear without being closer. He looks out at the kids running around shouting, and then around at the property surrounding the big house, he's surprised at the expanse of land that the House has, of course he doesn't show the surprise, his face a mask of disgruntled teenager and unimpressed by everything.
"Julian this is Ms. Carmille, she is the House mother and will be taking care of you during your stay here." Hades smiles down at his son, motioning to the women as though Julian is supposed to do something. He just nods, saying without words that he understands what he's been told.
"So, Julian I know that this is an odd way to arrive, but this is a regular activity here, and it is not that weird once you get used to it. I do hope that you will join in on the next one." Julian gives her a look that roughly translates to 'you've got to be joking', she does not appear to be. Hades smiles at him, hoping that his son will get along with everyone else well enough to participate in activities with them.
"Can you please show me to my room, or something, I would like to get 'settled in'." It takes all the willpower he has not to say that sentence with more sarcasm than already there, Ms Camille does not seem to notice the sarcasm, in fact she takes it as enthusiasm and opens the door gladly.
"I'll show you around the rest of the House first, so that you will be able to find your way around easier." The sound that leaves Julian's mouth is one of complete and utter sarcasm rolled into a ball and thrown into a lake of sass, it doesn't take the form of a word, rather a sound not that different to that of a bird; that is dying. Both the adults present look at him in worry, not knowing what the sound was, or why he made it.
"Sorry..." He isn't really that sorry, in fact he found it quite funny, and he didn't know he could actually make a sound like that. But he will probably make it again, just to see others reactions. The three enter a large room with a long table with place enough for forty people, maybe more. Julian doesn't know if its just him but it seems a bit excessive, unless there are forty people here, it did look like there were a large number of demigods out the front of the house.
"Okay, well this is the dinning hall, most meals are eaten in here or in the kitchen. Breakfast starts at 7AM and ends at 8AM, if you have slept in or do not want to eat with everyone then you can eat in the kitchen, lunch is eaten in here on days that we have a formal meal, if it is not then you can make whatever it is you want for lunch and eat it anywhere. Dinner starts at 7PM and ends 8PM, if you miss dinner there will not be any left overs in the kitchen, but there is always something else to eat usually in the kitchen if you wish to eat later." She smiles at him, and continues on to the kitchen.
The room is so big and has so many stations for cooking that Julian is unsure whether this is also a restaurant or something, this couldn't be for everyone in the House. There are two smaller tables underneath the windows at the far end of the room, looking as though they don't get used that much. He's guessing that everyone eats in the dining room.
