" Sweet heart, your friends are here to pick you up! "
You heard your mother call from downstairs.

" I'll be down in a minute! "
You shouted, your honeyed voice echoing through out the quiet house. You mentally went over your checklist, staring at your bag and ensuring you had everything you would need for an entire week. Your friends playfully honked the car horn at you as you threw in your swimsuit and some makeup. They were just as excited as you were. You had been dreaming about going on this trip for weeks now, and now that the day has come you couldn't find yourself capable of moving fast enough.

You grabbed your bag and hurried down the stairs. You gave your mom a quick kiss on the cheek and started out the door, being greeted by your best friend (f/n)'s blue truck.

"Hey (Y/n)!! What took'ya so long?!" (He/she) said, starting the car back up.
You laughed softly, pushing your (h/c) hair behind your ear.
"Just making sure I didn't forget anything!"

"Did you remember your swimsuit?" Your friend Alex said, poking his head out from behind your seat.
"Of course! Is everyone else already there?"
You slipped on some sunglasses and prepared for the ride.
"They'll get there not too long before us."
Alex grinned.

~A couple of hours of nonsensical chatter later~

(F/n) pulled into the camp and shut off their car.

"Here we are! Camp Blood in all it's glory!!"

(F/n) proclaimed hopping out of the drivers seat.
You grinned widely as you removed your sunglasses, setting them in the glovebox. Trees surrounded the outline of the lake, the way they danced in the waters reflection mixed with the fall air made coming here seem magical. You open the door and swung your legs out of the car, your legs being greeted by the wind as if they were lovers desperate for each others touch. Alex tossed your bag at you as you got out.
"Why don't you go ahead and choose a room?"
He smiled, gathering his own things.
You gave a nod and began to walk towards the large dark oak cabin. Bri, one of the newest members to the group met up with you at the door.
"Hey (Y/n)! How was your ride?"
She hummed.

You wandered through the house chatting with her about the scenery on the way up here. None of the rooms really seemed to stick out to you, until you came to one of the smaller ones with a lakeview from the bedside window. Bri had helped you unpack, she was turning to walk out the door when she quickly spun on her heels.
"Hey (y/n)? Don't be cramped up here taking pictures all day. Please?"
You gave her a gentle smile and nodded.
"I won't. I'm actually going to go to the dock for a bit."
Bri smiled and left you to change.

You slipped a large gray shirt over your black and white bathing suit. Grabbing your camera you started down to the dock, admiring the surrounding nature.
You hummed as you sat down, dipping your legs into the cold water. Goosebumps invaded your skin.
After a couple of minutes of turning around and looking through the camera lens you found an angle that satisfied you.

By the time you had finished taking pictures the sky had already dimmed as dusk set in. Figuring it was time to head back you grabbed the pictures and swayed your way back to the cabin. A couple of twigs snapped behind you causing you to turn. Upon seeing nothing you just shrugged a bit and entered the house. 'Probably just a deer.' You thought, setting the pictures on your table to develop.

~Passage of random activity filled time~

You and your friends were in the middle of a poker game, you were about to lay down your winning hand when the power went out. You jumped at the sudden deprivation of light, Bri screaming didn't help the tension in the room die down.

"I'll go check the generator."
Alex pipped up after about five minutes of sitting in the dark.
"I think there's a flashlight in the kitchen."
Bri whimpered. She never did well with the dark, came from a childhood accident she said. We all sat in silence as Alex walked out of the cabin, it was too late to be able to see clearly outside, if it weren't for the dark you would have sworn someone was standing in the corner of the room. You blinked and rubbed your eyes, when you looked again, nothing was there.
