The early morning sun was just up at the horizon. The rays were penetrating my skin and i could feel the warmth making me shift a little.I sensed reality reentring and then something hit thorugh me....consciousness.My eyelids cleaved open to let the lingering rays into my retina. But the light was too much for my hitherto resting eyes. I had to put up my hand to shield the 'blinding' light .My eyes accomodated in a few seconds..and looked over the light towards the sky...it was just dawn. The abnormally thin, transparent window did no job to reflect any light allowing the rays to pour in.Then i noticed those thick maroon curtains pushed aside.
The place was not familiar to me. I looked around,I was lying in a cozy bed and there was another similar bed a few feets aside. Some random secenary pictures were hung up on the walls. To my left there was a metal door shut tight. The glass aperture on its centre made me realise I was in a hospital.I got up to sit straight ,I felt a slight pressure on my left forearm.I turned to see a glucose trip suspended on a stand and the iv tube punctured into the back of my hand.
Before i could wonder , my memory pushes back to the scene of interest.
I was driving through a two way road along the countryside. There was this annoyingly slow truck whose driver didnt bother me pummeling on the horn.I had been trying to overtake him for the past quarter of an hour, but he didnt seem to budge.I accelerated not bothering the consequence and there was this steep bend,I notched up my opportunity and acclerated further.I managed to get past him..but the holy goodness tricked me,a honda city was approaching at its maximal speed,I wasnt spared a moment to decide. Before my brain could throw down an impulse or my legs could stomp on the brake , my hands steered the car aside , and the car got off the edge of the road.My widened eyes just saw a large trunk.....and then all my memory were brightly grim!I loosened my muscles in an attempt to relax myself.I placed my head slowly on the pillow.I was supposed to be curious about the onward happenings...yet i didnt know how i drifted off into a pleasant slumber.
I was woken up by a rattling noise that i later realized was from a stretcher being pushed.Opening my eyes , i saw the well known face of this young man with a pointed nose and a bony chin with stubble.Kiran.Officially my personal assistant , and oh! we were not acquainted non-officially though.I had not befriended many,well!...
lets not get in to that topic. He did not notice me waking,i followed his gaze to look at the stretcher being pushed to the bed beside mine.I saw two people lay an old man on the bed and walk off.The old man seemed to be unconscious, his left arm was heavily bandaged and the forearm shooting up in an awkward angle. 'Oh wait!! I had met with an accident , i must be severely hurt but rather i feel fine'.Thinking so , i got up to examine myself. And i had no difficulty in locating it.I could see my right leg more severely bandaged than the old man's hand,my toe fingers were barely visible over the cast and my knee would not obey my command. After some quick glances, i found none of the other parts were hurt saving some bruises and cuts.'How in the earthly hell is this possible?.The car hit the tree at a goddamn speed yet those bruises are weak and my leg has some dirty bandages wind around.phew! I'm lucky'i prided myself with the thought.
'Yet why dont my knees buckle in response? Has the bandages got something to do with it or is it some kind of a nerve involved injury?.' And suddenly the other thoughts hit me 'How long am i here?? Have i become immobile and futile?? '"Sir?" I hear his voice in a piercing tone.
I came out of my reverie and turned towards him.He was staring at me like i was some lost fortune. He was waiting for me to speak.I had so many questions to ask,but before i could decide, my instinct blurts out.
"How did you find me?"
He stood up in response.Respect i would rather say because he knews what i expect.
"I was informed." He said brusquely"But how did i end up in a hospital?"
"You had an accident!"
"Aw..jeez! I knew that, Who brought me to this hospital?"
