Best Friends Forever

Anna: hey

Lili: hey

Anna: whatcha doin?

Lili:  talking to you dumbass

Anna: XD Skype?

Lili: Skype.

Anna calls Lili on skype, and she happily answers. "Hi!" Lili said cheerfully.

"You don't have to say "hi" again, we agreed to skype less than a minute ago," Anna said laughing. She knew it was just Lili's way of making sure she could hear her and such, but it was still funny.

"I know that stupid! I was just making sure! Who knows, maybe someone else hacked into your phone and decided "Hey, I'm gonna call this chick! Haha that'd be cool!" You never know!!" Lili said trying to come out looking like she was doing something more than checking the sound.

"Uh huh sure. Cause that'll TOTALLY happen" Anna said back sarcastically. She knew good in well what her friend was doing.

"I-It could!!" Lili said defensively. "It definitely could!! You just are too oblivious!" She added.

"Fine fine it could... maybe possibly" Anna said in exasperation. She knew her friend wouldn't give up, so she decided just to give in and let her win. "It could possibly happen, so she's not exactly wrong.. just not as right as me," she thought to herself.

The two girls talked for hours upon hours about nothing and everything. No matter what the situation, one could always make the other laugh; it was just how they were. They felt right when they were talking with each other. They felt at peace as long as the other was there for them.

"Ugh!! Have you noticed people keep thinking we're dating, and as soon as they find out we're not, they start saying we should date!! It's so annoying!!" Lili said irritatedly. She was looking at a message her friend had just sent her about how the two would be "Such an adorable couple!! Squee!!" and was just a bit annoyed with everyone saying the same thing all of the time.

"Yeah.. why do they think we'd be such a good couple anyway?" Anna asked. She kinda knew why, for they did only feel truly happy when they were with each other. She wanted to know what Lili's opinion was though.

"I dunno. I guess just cause we're best friends and stuff," Lili said. She knew it was more than that, she just didn't want to make the conversation awkward.

"W-We're best friends..?" Anna said hopefully. She hadn't ever heard Lili say they were best friends.

"Of course idiot! Do I have to spell it out for you? Did you think we weren't?" Lili spat. She was a bit annoyed Anna didn't think they were.

"No I did! I just didn't know you did," she said quickly so Lili could be happy again. She couldn't stand Lili being unhappy.

"Well I do! We're best friends forever," Lili said calmly.

"Forever.... good. You can't get rid of me easily after all," Anna said laughing a bit.

"I don't wanna get rid of you!" Lili said. That was the truth, she didn't ever want to lose Anna.

Anna smiled happily. Lili sounded like it was a joke, but she knew it wasn't really. She could practically read her best friends mind. They were so close it felt like they were the same person sometimes. Anna loved it.

"It's 4:00am, I need to go to sleep before my parents catch me," Anna said sleepily.

"Aww okay.. bye honey~!" Lili said and blew her a kiss. Anna did the same and they ended the call. That had been their joke for quite some time, but at some point it started to feel less like a joke for the both of them.
