One.

((This story is always in Niall's POV unless otherwise stated. Also, in case you haven't picked up on it yet, nobody is famous in this story. Alright here we go))

I woke up far to early to the annoying, horrendous sound of my alarm clock. It took me a moment to realize that I had school, and therefore, should probably get up and get ready.

I rolled out of bed, stifling a yawn. I shuffled to my bathroom, grabbing a random outfit along the way. Honestly, I didn't care what I looked like, nobody was going to like me anyways.

I stood in the small bathroom, slipping into the grey sweater and dark denim jeans I'd happened to grab. I fixed my hair, spiking it up the slightest bit, showing off my brunette roots. I finished my look with some white Supras.

"Alright, perfect. Now I need a huge breakfast and I'll be ready to begin this wonderfully awful day." I muttered to myself, walking out of my room and into the kitchen, where my mom was already preparing my meal.

"Good morning, my handsome boy. You ready to start school?" She said, placing a plate of steaming bacon, eggs, and pancakes in front of me.

"Nope." I replied, talking through a mouthful of food. "Technically, it's not really starting, since there's two weeks left, and I already took most of school this year already."

She rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean."

I grinned and nodded, and we fell into a comfortable silence while I finished my breakfast.

I truly hoped I could get a fresh new start here. I already liked this place better than Ireland. It would never be home, of course, but it was still pretty great. The people here were nicer, and it was beautiful.

"Sweetheart, remember, you have to walk to school. You might want to get going." Mum advised me, taking my empty plate away. I nodded, butterflies erupting in my stomach.

What if no one liked me? What if I got bullied? What if everything went all wrong? What if this time, it was worse than how it was in Mullingar?

My mom seemed to realize my discomfort, as she walked over to me and pulled me in for a hug. She kissed my forehead and smiled warmly.

"Don't worry, dear. Everything is going to be fine."

I sighed. That's what she said at the start of the school year back home. But, what could I do? I just had to get this over with.

"Thanks, Mum." I said, grabbing my backpack. "See you after school!"

I walked out the door, beginning the ten minute walk to school. I took this time to admire my new home.

The sky was cloudy and grey, matching my current mood. I felt as though this place had a rather old-fashioned look to it, which was extremely cool in my opinion. I already thought London was an amazing place, and I'd only been here a week.

I began softly humming random songs to myself, and before I knew it, I was walking up to my new high school.

I walked through the front doors and headed towards the office to get my schedule. The students were all looking at me as I passed by, but luckily they began to ignore me after some time.

Good.

I walked into the office and went to the front desk, the nervous feeling I'd had before returning.

"Hi." I said softly, catching the ladie's attention. She gave me a welcoming smile.

"Hello there! You must be Niall Horan, correct?" She asked.
