PROLOGUE
Ainsel appraised the pair dancing together. They were just two normal young adults that were having a good time in the club. Two people out of many. Ainsel didn't need the two of them. Just the girl…
The girl's brown hair bounced in the same rhythm as her dance. Her cheeks were flushed red with excitement and the wild joy of the night. Her hazel eyes were bright with the thrill of the evening. She blended so well among all those people. Then again, she hasn't awakened yet.
Veronica Harrison… the lost princess. Ainsel, herself, couldn't believe it. She seemed so….human. She was filled with the mortality and fragileness that all humans possessed. But not for long.
Ainsel saw the boy, the princess had been dancing with, leave. It was time to act. She made her way through the crowd until she was just behind the human lamia princess.
She smiled and tapped the girl's shoulder. Veronica looked at her with startled eyes. "Can I help you?"
"Yes. I want you to heed my warning, princess. Everything is about to change and it will start on your twenty first birthday."
