Chapter 4| Pain And Truth !!!

Author's pov~

(at the same time in the forest were inuyasha and kagome are there)

Inuyasha and Kagome just stood there staring at the very spot were they saw Kikyo standing alive. They both had the same unison thoughts that the person standing before them just a while ago was really kikyo or...Sometime later kagome started staring inuyasha who was facing his back to her. A chilly wind blew the hair of the two person standing, howling could be heard, birds were returning to their nests,...and demons lurking out. These charecterestics indicated that it was getting dark.

Kagome's pov~

'Its just not possible! how...how kikyo is alive once again. Something's not right... and where's the man?!... i think inuyasha must have noticed it too...but still... Instead of being shocked myself, i should support him... I gathered up all my courage.

"inuya-" i was cut off by him.

"kagome, are you alright?" he said while turning around.

"i am" i tried to put up a smile for him. He smiled too.

"inuyasha! kagome!" we heard familiar voices and we both turned in the direction from where the sound came.

"sango! miroku! shippo!" i shouted

"what happened here?! were you engaged in a fight? everything here is ramshakled!" sango said while moving her head from here to there to grasp in the situation. I told them everything what happened til now. I saw their faces widening when i mentioned kikyo's name and they started staring inuyasha.

"what are you all staring at?" inuyasha said while showing signs of frustration.

"nothing...lets just go home, its getting late" miroku said and moved his hand on the back of his head.

Sango and miroku went to their cottage and me and inuyasha went to ours. I was tired so i decided to doze off but suddenly i felt someone's hand on my shoulder's. I started to tremble and i knew exactly what inuyasha was going to say...

"don't even think of sleeping...answer my questions why were you wandering near the bone eater's well?" inuyasha said. I turned around to face him but i just couldn't look into his eyes.

"i...i just went to check if the...the well was working" i cursed myself for stammering.

"say that again while looking straight in my eyes" oh no he understood...he grabbed my chin and pushed it upwards, initially making me to look in his golden eyes. I was unable to look away...for that moment i completely forgot that we humans are able to move our eyes or just close it...

"i...i...i..." i started and ended with a tear drop rolling down my cheeks.

"tell me kagome" inuyasha said softly.

"i...just can't"

"and why is that?...pain becomes half if you share it" he said and let go off my chin.

"why don't you understand that i can't" i tried my best not to cry

"why?"

"because...cause...se...it will become more painfull if i tell you" i saw inuyasha's widening eyes "don't...just don't...ask me!" the tears i held on to flowed down my cheeks like a river flowing down the mountains. I placed my hands on my face and i started crying real hard..."please...pl...se under..t...understand"

Inuyasha's pov~

I hate to see her cry and this time its unbearable. Her last sentence asking no begging me to understand was filled with extreame pain. I don't know the reason though...but wait what if i was the reason that's causing her so much pain. Just looking at her makes me think that she could break any moment now. I have to comfort her...i want to hug her and never let go.

I leaned closer and hugged her and i said sorry, she just nodded her head. I have to say something that would make her feel better...but what shoud i say...WAIT i really have something important to tell her...i shoud've said told her the moment i realised but i was still not sure...not than not now...i shoud tell her. I don't know if it will make her feel better but i have to 'cause its really important. I started " kagome " i let go of the hug i gave her but was still holding her hand " i have something important to tell but before that please forgive my harshness" she wiped her face and said "wow, i am impressed inuyasha...you are apologising! that's so out of character!" "KAGOME!" i said frustrated and than she said "okay okay i forgive you" with a smile on her face. A smile that i longed for! i am glad that she is back to normal.

"so what is it?" she said

"well its about the kikyo we saw" her smile faded

"ohh...i know...your kikyo is back" she said while diverting her eyes from me to the ground. She looked sad.

"what are you saying?"

"exactly what you heard" she said. Now she was looking straight in my eyes. I took a step back in a defending way 'cause the look and her tone was pretty scary. Kagome can be scary when she is angry but this time she wasn't angry...well actually she looked emotionless! I don't know what's with kagome today, she is acting pretty strange but i continued anyway...

"listen kagome i mean to say that the kikyo we saw wasn't actually kikyo"

"eh!? what do you mean"

"do you remember that the moment we saw kikyo, the man dissapeared"

"so what?"

"kikyo was standing at the same place where the man was standing, don't you think its fishy!?"

"inuyasha tell me properly! i still don't get it"

"i'm positive. My nose will never betray me. The smell of kikyo and the man were the same. Who else knows kikyo's scent better than me!"

" so what you are saying is that this person has the same ability as naraku who used this ability and made you and kikyo betray each other"

"exactly, but why?..."

" um...i guess that the man was decieving us"

"but he failed because i discovered the truth"

"i don't think that the enemy would be that foolish and how did he know about kikyo? i pretty much think that it was all planned out. He must have achieved what he wanted"

I was suprised with kagome's theory. "but what was the plan? any guess"

"nope...that's what we have to find out. Tomorrow we'll tell this to miroku and sango and head out to search. But for now let's rest"

We went to sleep.
