"Why is she not up yet?" A woman said in a forceful voice.
"W- we had to put her in a chemical induced coma. Her injuries were severe and we didn't want her waking up to soon." With barely a moment of peace the woman spoke again.
"Do you think I care! Wake her up NOW!"
She had a strong voice that demanded the attention of all, giving her a sense of dominance, and I knew that we were not going to get a long.
"B-but she's still injured!" My doctor argued.
" I already told you that I don't care."
"Very well, I'll wake her up but she won't be happy with the fact that I woke her up with a needle."
"Did she just say needle?" I thought. "Oh man. Not good!" I then heard the door open and I quickly opened my eyes, only to be blinded by the lights. When I could see what was around me I saw that I was in a pale white room. I had a I.V in my arm. Bandages covered my arms and neck, my breathing was loud and harsh. My throat was dry and stung as if bees were violently jabbed at it. I closed my eyes again, the light still made me nauseous.
The door then closed and I remembered the task at hand. I then jolted up and yelled,
"I'm up! I'm up! No need to stick me with anything!"
The woman came back from behind the curtain to face me. Her long dark brown hair and complexion made her beautiful, but it was her eyes, her hawk like eyes that glared into you as if she could see right through you, menacing and demanding authority.
"Well, you got up fast." Said the woman. "I am Agent Jamie Z ."
"Umm..." I trailed off, wondering where this was going to go. "Hi... My name is Katona-
"Willows." The woman interrupted. "I know who you are." I raised my eyebrows.
"What?" I thought.
"Doctor, please take out her I.V."
"But-" my doctor began, but after one glance at Agent Jamie Z, she questioned her no longer.
"Yes, Ma'am." was her reply.
When I saw the look in my doctor's eyes all I saw was fear.
"Okay, Katona, I'd like to talk to you about your family." The agent said in an unconvincing tone of sympathy.
"What about them?" I snapped.
I flinched as the I.V. came out and a bandage was put on in its place.
"Great just great like I needed another bandage."
"I hate to tell you this, but they didn't survive the fire." She said with little
emotion.
"A fire? What does she mean!"
"What? What do you mean they didn't make it? And what fire?!" I screamed demanding an answer.
"Katona," my doctor began, "I know this must be hard for you, but-"
"I don't know what you're talking about," I muttered.
"Where was she getting all of this? What are they talking about!" Then something flashed in my mind, and old and new memories came back to me in a flood.
"I ran as fast as I could into the broken front door of the house, now in flames.
"MOM! DAD! SIS!" I screamed through my hoarse voice. The fire was spreading and it was closing in all around me, it's tongues reached to lick my heating skin.
