Colors.
-
-
There was always something beautiful missing from the world.
-
-
But, is it missing forever?
-
-
To some, there are all of these colors from blue to red that fill the whole Earth full of somethings ones eyes cannot contain.
-
-
But, for many, the colors are just ordinary and are grey, white, and black. It is a dreadful world to millions across the world. One day they just wish to see the beauty that others do see every single day.
-
-
Only some are bothered by this, others are excited to just get through the gloominess and be able to see a rainbow in it's true identity.
-
-
But, for that to come, they must find the one that they are supposed to be with for all eternity.

Seven years old. Still a lot of more years to go, but the world is looking as grey as ever. Even his eyes still had no color to his brown eyes his mom always tells him about. She says they are the best she has ever seen. They are filled with wonders, his mom would always tell him.He always wondered what they would look like. Not just his eyes, either. Everything around him. Him, his mom, his home, his backyard, the sky, even the stars. But, one thing he didn't get, was the imprint on his left wrist.
For years he had wondered about the words on his wrist. He never had enough courage to go up to his mother and ask her directly. He was afraid what the answer would be. So for years he just let it be. Even though he was young, his mind was older.
One day, his mother walked into his room. She sat down on the bed beside him and just smiled like he was her work of art. Which was pretty much true.
With final thoughts, he decided to ask his mom.
"Mom? I've been wondering what this is. Can you tell me?" He held up his left wrist and showed his mom the imprint. He was scared on what will happen. What will she say to him?
His mom nodded her head. "This, my dear, is your soulmate's initials." She pointed to the two letters above the other writing. "And this," She pointed to the writing. "Is the sentence your soulmate will always say to you."
The boy looked at his mom. Even more thoughts filled his head. "Mom? What is a soulmate?"
With this question, his mom was more than happy to tell him all about soulmates and everything about the imprints and the color of the world.
"My child, sit back and relax, I am going to tell you all about what you are wondering. You won't have to ask the question ever again. You will know what this really means later on in life, but I will tell you what you want to know. And that is everything."
The boy sat back down in his bed and got into a more comfortable position. He was happy that he will finally get to know what all this meant in his life and why. He smiled at her and nodded for her to tell him.
His mom closed her eyes. "A soulmate. It is kind of hard to explain. But, a soulmate is like someone who will always be there for you, even in the darkest times, and always in the wonderful times. At your age, there isn't much for soulmates, but once you become a teenager, everything starts making sense and adding up to your life." She opened her eyes to look at her son. "My soulmate is daddy. He was there for me when I needed him and even when I didn't. He always loved me no matter what. Sure, we had our fights, but that's what makes love unique."
She laid down on the bed next to her son. "I have an imprint just like you." She held up her right wrist. "It has daddy's initials on them, see? And his quote right here. 'Just wonderful'." She smiled. "I was so happy to find my soulmate. If I didn't, I don't know where I would be right now."
"Mom. What about my eyes? You say they are a 'brown' like color." She let out a small laugh. "Once you find your soulmate, you start to see color. Like red, blue, orange, brown, and many more wonderful colors. When you are around your soulmate, colors start to appear in your vision. But, they don't fully appear until you actually find feelings toward them."
The boy looked confused, but brushed it off. 'Confusing grown up stuff' . He thought to himself.
"Now, girls have their soulmate imprints on their right wrists, while boys have theirs on their left. Don't ask me why about that one. I guess it's just natures thing." She laughed again. "But, do remember something. Once you find your soulmate, don't ever leave them. Don't ever doubt about your soulmate and how they are. You two are meant for each other, and nothing can split you two apart. Now, I don't know if your soulmate's parents are telling them about this right now, but sometimes you have an instinct on what they are doing." She looked out the window.
"When I met your father, I could see the color of the setting sun. It was orange, yellow, and bright. They sky was a pink and purple mixed with a very like blue and a very dark blue. The clouds were even whiter than they ever were." She placed her fingers across her imprint.
"Mom? Do you miss dad?" The little boy asked her, he could tell she did. She closed her eyes and smiled softly.
"Yes. I miss him deeply. He is in an even better place now. Filled with more colors than the Earth. He's still here though. In this room. Just listening to us talking. He's probably sitting on this bed right now." A tear fell down her cheek.
"You know, he looked just like you. Except, he had thicker and darker hair. His eyes were lighter than yours, too. But, when I look at you, I see him. Standing right in front of me saying he loves me." She sat up to hug her son.
"I miss him, too. I wonder what he was like? But, thank you. For telling me what a soulmate was and all." He hugged her back.
"I would tell you every day if I have to." She giggled. "Just promise me something." She paused for a minute. "Always love your soulmate, whether boy or girl. Cherish them every moment. Thank them for being with you. Take care of them. Promise me that, Tooru."
"I promise, mom."
