I saw something rather news-worth today during gym class. I hated sports and don't want to deal with it, so I just sit on the edge of the bleacher with Mary and listen to some music.
Then Nadhira came and sit alone, rows below us. She just sit there, stroking her hair and fix her gym shorts ( I got to say that her legs are sexy), watching Jamie play basketball. When he saw her, he winked and tell his buds that he's taking a break.
"Hey beautiful," Jamie said as he kiss her forehead.
But Nadhira just give a long sigh.
"Wow, what's wrong?" he ask.
"Why didn't you answer my call yesterday?" she ask back.
"How many?"
"Just one."
"One? Then I probably didn't hear it. Sorry Nadhira, maybe you should've called twice?"
"I don't ever."
"Well... Baby, I'm sorry, okay? I'll make it up to you somehow. Let's have lunch together after the game, okay? I gotta go back to the game."
"Okay."
"Did I tell you you're beautiful?"
Nadhira smiled. But it's a half-smile, the kind that usually means 'Yea I know'.
Let me get something straight; Nadhira's not beautiful. Her face is decent compared to other popular girls here, but her advantage is, she's sexy with perfect skinny legs.
And she's expensive. Sara and At got called hot and pretty lots of times and they're easily swooned by it, something guys like to call... easy target. Sara fall in love too easily and At likes to show off what she got. Nadhira on the other hand, make guys have a hard time just to pat her shoulders.
"I never like Nadhira." Mary blurted it out.
"I know that, you said it a lot..."
"I never understand why Jamie likes her. I wish he'll dump her soon."
"I don't know, she's pretty hot, and she's popular."
"She killed Vicky. She's fucking disgusting."
And after that Mary just keep muttering things about Nadhira Nasution. I just have to listen to her. She even said "Why can't Jamie notice me instead of that bitch?"
I could never tell me, plus she'll deny it, but probably it's because Mary's.... fat. I'm not insulting my best friend, but she is, compared to the other girls. And Jamie's ex-girlfriends all have sexy legs, so maybe that's his type.
It was lunch break when suddenly At came to me and said, "Do you like Malik?"
"No..."
"Well, he likes you."
"What?"
"He told me. You're Barnett, right? Yea."
"Um..."
"You guys would look cute together, like, for real." she said. "Did you know he wanted to kiss you during chemistry?"
"What?" I ask. Malik is this dude from arab. Not the cutest, but he's cool and on the basketball team.
"I know. Totally childish." she giggled. "By the way, you should totally go to my house this weekend. Party, of course. Mike's going to be there."
"Um..."
"Holy shit, I never invited you before! Well, you are now."
"Wait, why would Malik like me?"
"I don't know, ask him yourself. Sara don't think you're pretty, I don't too. But it's interesting. You're coming to the party, right?"
"okay..."
"Goodie!"
At's like that, she's fast and confident, but she also look down to people who aren't considered cool. I'm not, so I think that's why she talk to me like that, but I'm invited to her party.
