My whole family crowded around our new maple wood table. Supposed to give the kitchen a 'rustic' look, but when you are jam packed in the city.. It doesn't exactly work that way. My mom eagerly squeezed my new stepdad's hand as we all walked in.

My sister Chelsea took a seat next to me, and I let my younger brother Jordan sit on my lap. "Well, we have extremely exciting news for you all!! Shawn, care to tell them?" My mom kisses his cheek, and he blushes. Bleh, the usual romance stuff they do.

"Uh. Okay. Your mother and I are expecting a baby!" He shouts and my mother claps excitedly. Seeing our bland reactions, my mom decides to step in. "Sarah isn't this exciting?" She asks me making her eyes very wide.

"Just great." I can't help but be sarcastic. My step dad is so utterly annoying, the last thing I want is a new baby. "Our even more exciting news, is that..." My mom stops short when Chelsea cuts in.

"God help us." Chelsea says sarcastically as we await the apparently exciting news. "We've planned a trip to Disney world before the baby's born!"

Now, I'm up and jumping around. Jordan is screaming and clapping, and my other sister has an excited look plastered across her face. Chelsea, being in that boring teenage stage looks somewhat pleased. Thankfully, my eldest sister gets her to act a bit more excited.

"We leave tonight!" My mother now suddenly adds in. I scramble up to go pack my bags and am soon joined by all my other siblings. My sister Evelyn and I share a room. She's probably my favorite sister, being that we're closest in age. She's fourteen, and I just turned thirteen. Chelsea's sixteen, and Jordan's five. My oldest sister, Rachel is nineteen.

"Are you totally siked? I can't believe it!" Evelyn says. I nod and scramble through my drawers for decent clothing. "You still have my golden scarf?" I say to Evelyn while picking out clothing. She doesn't answer, just tosses it to me.

"I actually kinda like Shawn." Evelyn says in a concerned tone. "I don't." I retort. How could she like him? He replaced our dad. "Give him a chance Sarah. He's trying you know."

I just shrug her off, she can't make me like him. Even if he did take part in planning this amazing trip.

"Think this will be our last trip as a family? Being that Rachel's going to Florida state next month?" Evelyn nodded. "Probably. I doubt they'd pull off another vacation within four weeks Sar." She says with a hint of sarcasm in her tone.

You can hear loud footsteps, and they reach the entrance of our room. "Sarah, where's my blow dryer? You borrowed it last. I NEED it for the trip." Chelsea's hands are on her hips as she talks to me. I groan now, realizing I left it at the neighbor's.

"It's at Mckaylee's. Want me to get it?" I ask her politely hoping she won't kill me. She nods and rolls her eyes as if that answer is one hundred percent obvious.

Quickly, I bound down the steps and arrive at our neighbor's home. "Hey! I bet you're excited for Disney!!" Mckaylee's friendly face answers the door. "Siked more like it. Hey, I'll try and call you while I'm at Disney. Ok?" I said with a smile. She nodded and hugged me. "See ya! Have a blast!"

The street one block over was extremely crowded. We lived in one of the only neighborhoods in New York City. Everyone was already loading things into the car. Besides Jordan who was whining on the porch.

"Jordan whats your deal?" I said with a soft smile. "Mommy left my stuffed rabbit in the house its locked too." He pouted for emphasis. I couldn't help but groan. I had no means of going back into the house. "Stay here. Kay?" He nodded.

My mom was kissing holding hands with Shawn and telling Chelsea about her attitude during the vacation.

"Uh sorry to interrupt but,I need the house key. Jordan won't stop whining until he gets his rabbit. It's on the table." I held my hand out and my mom glanced at Shawn. He pulled the keys out of his pocket and handed it to me. "Say thank you sweetie." My mom practically pleaded to me. "Thanks, but no thanks." I turned on my heel and walked back towards the house.

No one could make me like him. It'd be nice if they stopped trying too. I saw Evelyn siting in the yard shaking her head at me. Yeah, whatever.

The house easily unlocked and I flipped on the light switches. Shawn had totally taken control of the kitchen so it would seem "rural" totally lame.

Sure enough his drool coated, missing fur patched rabbit was nestled on the table. I picked it up between two fingers not wanting dried drool on my hands.

Once I shut off the lights and locked the house, I saw Jordan waiting for me. "Here." He took the rabbit slowly and gave me a hug. "Thanks Sarah I mean it too"

Jordan's learning about honesty and stuff at school, so he's always adding dumb phrases about honesty and not lying.

Jordan and I walked to the car, to see we were left with the back seats. Jordan sat in the middle, with Evelyn and I on both ends. Because Rachel and Chelsea were older they got the single middle seats of the van. Leaving Shawn to drive, and my mom his passenger.

"Plane leaves in thirty minutes! Lets roll!" My mom said a bit too cheerily. I caught Chelsea roll her eyes. Rachel was consumed in her laptop, and Evelyn was almost asleep. Jordan looked at me and shrugged.

This would be a long two weeks..
