You live in a boarding school on top of a cliff in the middle of nowhere.  Barely anyone comes around, and the only intriguing thing nearby is White Deer Woods.  One day, you wandered into White Deer Woods.  You meet the White Deer, who spoke to you, repeating the name of an animal over and over again.  You stood frozen, listening.  When the White Deer left, you felt strange.  You whispered the animal's name, and, voila, you turned into that very animal.  Now you have the power to turn into one animal, and one animal only.
