Cory's pov
"Ok, what's your idea?" I asked."It's... It's... I forgot." She shrugged. I laughed.
She had completely forgotten about her idea. How does someone do that?
"Someone's forgetful." I smirked.
"Yeah, well-" She was cut off by thunder. She tackled me. I blushed.
"CORY IM SCARED OF STROMS!" She whimpered.
"Really?" I asked.
I looked up at her, and she had tears in her eyes, her eyes flooding with fear.
"Y-yeah..." She said.
"It really late. I'm going to bed." I said.
"O-ok. Night C-Cory." She stuttered.
I flopped on my bed. I sighed. I couldn't hide it any longer. I just need sleep.
I woke up to a noise. I thought it was my alarm, and reached for my phone.
1 am. I heard the noise again. Crying. I opened my door slowly so it didn't make any noise, and peered over at the couch. Shelby was wrapped in a blanket, crying."Your not little anymore Shelby... Your ok...." She said. Thunder boomed outside. She hugged her knees.
"I'm not ok.... Not ok.... Why isn't there anyone that will help me when it storms?" She sobbed.
I walked over to her. She didn't notice me.
"Shubs?" I asked.
As I did, thunder roared. She screamed. Loud. Then she stopped and looked at me.
"Oh hey.... Cory...." She said.
"Are you crying?" I asked.
She started to laugh.
"No no I'm not crying.." The laugh started to fade.
"Why would you think that?" The laugh was gone.
"I'm not afarid I don't need help..." She started to break down.
".... I want help...." She was breaking down.
".... I just want someone to really care... About my fears.... About my emotions.... And about me...." She went silent.
I sat next to her.
"Shelby. You want to know how many people care about you?" I asked.
She didn't say anything.
"Ross. Adam. Jess. Jin. Nick. Uni. Barney. Alesa. Mouise. Ashlie." I said.
She just stayed silent.
"Me." I said.
"You never call me Shelby." She said.
"I don't?" I asked.
She nodded.
"I'll give the help you want." I said.
She leaned on my shoulder, and I wipe her tears. After I was done wiping her tears, I stroked her hair.
"Cory..." She said.
"Yeah?" I asked.
She moved up to my cheek, and kissed it. I felt my face heat up.
"Thank you." She said.
"It's nothing much." I said.
"Maybe not to you. But to me, it means the world." She said.
"Good night, Shelby."
"Good night, Cory."
