Stranded

6: Working On It

~Misha POV~

We had finally started getting resources together to build a raft. Jensen and Jared had finished bringing all the palm trees to shore and we were now planning the best way to put it together.
"Guys, are we sure that this thing will even be able to hold all of us?", Matt speaks up.
"Of course not. We can't be sure of that until we actually try it." Jensen says. "But I guess worst case scenario is that just a few of us go and find land and find help to bring back to y'all as soon as possible."

"Agreed.", I say. Everyone else nods.

At that moment, Gil and Ashley emerge from the jungle...holding hands.
I raise my eyebrow.
"When did this happen?"

"Just now!", Ashley replies. Her and Gil both have almost face-splitting smiles on their faces. I nod.
"Well, if you're both happy, I'm happy for you."
"Thanks!", they both reply.
Sydney runs by and almost knocks me over to hug Ashley.
"I'm so sorry! Can we please stop fighting?", Sydney says.
"Of course. Everything's ok.", Ashley replies.
After they pull apart, Jensen walks up and throws his arm around Sydney. "Awww! Now isn't that sweet.", he says then kisses Sydney's cheek. Sydney looks at him and we all raise our eyebrows.
"When did THIS happen?", Ashley says.
"Just now!",Jensen says, grinning until he sees the glare Sydney and Ashley are giving him. "I-I mean only if Sydney wants to be my girlfriend of course." He grins again, looking at Sydney.
"Of course!", Sydney says and stands on her tiptoes to hug him.
"Well", Gil speaks up, "now that that's all taken care of, how about we all really get to work on this raft?"
"Yea.", everyone says.

~Sydney POV~

By the time the sun sets, the raft is almost complete thanks to all of us finally completely working together. I am still in a very good mood thanks to me and Jensen officially being together now and thanks to being extremely happy for my sister and Gil. We are all setting around the fire talking and eating, except for Rob who disappeared a few minutes ago.
"Guys! Look what I made!!", Rob yells running around the opposite side of the wreckage. He is holding objects in both hands. As he gets closer, I can tell that he has made a makeshift guitar and makeshift bongos from pieces of the wreckage and things from the jungle.
"Really Robbie?", Rich says.
"I think it's cool.", Ashley and I say at the same time.
"Thanks guys!"
"I want the bongos!", Misha yells. Rob hands them over and takes a seat beside him with the guitar. He starts playing a familiar tune and Misha soon joins in after figuring it out.
Everyone laughs and Jared roles his eyes after realizing what it is.
"Really guys?!", he says.
Rob and Rich start singing.

I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do!

Ashley and I join in.

A look from you and I would fall from grace
And that would wipe the smile right from my face

Everyone joins in and we sing through the first chorus. We sing a few more songs and as I look around I start thinking about how great this moment is despite the disaster that caused it.
