Hearts and Hooves Day

Fluttershy woke from her bed and looked out the window. "Oh, hello little birdie friends." She said in her soft and quiet voice. She looked at the newly morning sun and smiled. It was another beautiful morning in Ponyville.

She got up from her bed and walked outside. Angel followed her and jumped onto her back. "Oh, hello Angel. Oh? What are you saying?" Angel jumped up excitedly and pointed back at the house. "Did I forget something again?" Angel quickly nodded and Fluttershy turned around and headed back towards her cottage.

When she opened the door, Angel quickly hopped over to the calendar and tapped on today's date. "The 14th? Isn't that Hearts and Hooves day?" Angel nodded. "Wait, today is the 14th, isn't it?" He nodded again. "Why are you showing me?" Angel hopped over to a picture with Fluttershy's friends and pointed at Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy was confused at first and then blushed deeply as she caught on to what Angel was saying.

Fluttershy looked at the picture and frowned. "Angel, I don't think I can. I don't think Rainbow even likes me that way." He raised an eyebrow and pushed her towards the door. "Angel, I can't!" Angel pushed her outside and shut the door, locking it." Fluttershy sighed and walked towards town.

"Fluttershy!" Fluttershy looked and saw Pinkie Pie galloping towards her. She tackled Fluttershy and hugged her. "Hello, Fluttershy!" "Oh uh hello, Pinkie." "Are you looking for Dashie?" Fluttershy nodded. "Well, you won't find her here. Last I checked she was at Applejack's. Try checking there. She said she was going to run errands for a bit." Fluttershy looked at the ground, disappointed.

"Don't be sad, Flutters. Dashie won't be long." Pinkie smiled and bounced away. Fluttershy got off the ground and flew towards the flower shop. "Uh, hello?" "Can I help you?" A sweet voice came from inside the shop. "Yes, I need, um, a rose please." "That'll be 10 bits." "I only have 4." The pony put the rose back and signaled for her to move along. Fluttershy frowned and walked away, slowly.

She flew over to Applejack's barn and found her bucking apple trees. "Applejack?" She looked up and saw Fluttershy flying down. "Hey! Rainbow was just lookin' for ya. She said she had somethin' for ya but couldn't find ya. She was here earlier but she left a while ago. Not sure where she went but she's usually in her room in Cloudsdale. Try checking there if you're looking for her." "Thanks." Fluttershy sighed heavily and flew up to Cloudsdale.

She flew up to Rainbow's room and knocked on the cloud door. Rainbow opened the door and smiled. "Fluttershy!" Rainbow hugged her. "Hi, Rainbow. Uh, I... Um..." Rainbow trotted over to her bed and sat down. She patted her bed to notion for Fluttershy to sit by her. Fluttershy walked over there slowly and sat down.

"So what'd ya need?" Fluttershy blushed and looked down at her hooves. "I uh..." Fluttershy sighed. "I like you!" Fluttershy yelled out quickly. Rainbow looked at her in surprise. "Really?" "Yes. I wanted to tell you sooner but I was afraid you wouldn't like me anymore or you'd think I was weird and I didn't wanna ruin our friendship." She explained in one breath.

Rainbow turned her body towards Fluttershy and hugged her. Fluttershy hugged back and shed a tear. Rainbow pulled back and wiped her tear away. "Don't cry, Flutters. I like you, too." Fluttershy smiled and looked into Rainbow's magenta eyes. "R-really?" Rainbow smiled and nodded her head. They went in for another hug and Rainbow kissed her on the cheek.

"I was going to get you a flower but I didn't have enough bits." Rainbow chuckled a little. "I don't need flowers when I have you. Although, I did get you something. Rainbow Dash held out a heart shaped locket with the initials "FxRD" carved into it.  Fluttershy blushed and hugged her tighter. Rainbow helped her put it on and smiled at her. "Hey, Flutters?" Fluttershy looked up at her. "Yes, Rainbow?" Rainbow smiled and blushed. "Will you be my very special somepony?" Fluttershy formed tears and nodded her head excitedly.

"Yes! I will."
