Author's note:
Its my first time publishing anything I've written. I would prefer I got advice rather than bad criticism.

When I discovered I had something no one else had...
I'll admit. I pissed myself a little.
-River Benston
The first day of my transformation was an interesting one. When I woke up I was sore. My upper body felt as if it had been hit by a train. Even though I was in a lot of pain I did my normal routine. Brushed my teeth in the kitchen sink, and fixed my bed [Stan's couch]. Stan was already gone for the day, and a note was left on his pillow saying I had to take out the garbage and get to school on time.
I sat on the couch and thought about the dream I had the night before. I saw eyes, all I could see were eyes but I knew they belonged to a women. They were beautiful a dark green.
I snapped out of my day dream and realized I should've been gone already. Leaving the apartment I locked the door. That's when something caught my eye. Something I wouldn't have noticed any other day. There was a single script of paper sticking out of the mailbox. Written on the paper was a note;
To River Benston-
You're at a time in your life where you will start to understand what you're doing with your life and who you will become.
'What..?' I looked around baffled. I looked at the paper for about a minute realizing it wasn't Stan's handwriting, and I don't have many friends who live close. 'Is this a joke?' I'm sure it looked like I was talking to the front garden at that point, so I started walking to school. While walking I could feel burning at the base of my neck and for some reason I was sweating. I was wearing cargo pants and a fitted white T-shirt. My brown hair was almostt hidden under a black skull cap, and of course I had my aviator's to match.
I got to school two minutes late. When I walked into the office to get the tiny pink late slip I noticed a man in an all black suit. He looked like a teacher, but I knew he wasn't. He was something more, more powerful. No he couldn't be a teacher. He didn't belong here. I don't think he belonged in this school or near this school this man had to get out of here it wasn't safe.
I felt the need to hurt this man, threaten him, get him away from the school, or someone would get hurt. I looked at his reflection on the glass door. I noticed something chrome hanging from his waist, a gun. I told myself he must've been a police officer.
'I'm sorry what did you say your name was?' Mr. Franklin, the school's principal, said to the suited man. The man reached to where his gun was and attempted to pull it from his waist. I took a deep breath and watched as the man's hand quickly jerked, but the gun didn't budge. It was stuck...
'I think I should be going now.' The suited man turned and went out the main entrance without saying his name. I could see the car speeding out of the visitor's parking lot on to the main highway. I took a look at his liscense plate number: 385SID. My head was pounding and I heard someone calling me.
'Mr. Benston? Can you hear me?' The principal was staring at me.
'Yes?' I said.
'Shouldn't you be getting to class?'
'Yes sir.' I turned and headed towards my first class.
English class felt just the same as every other day. I watched as a few select people raised their hand's to answer questions. I couldn't hear the teacher but I watched her lips moving as I listened to a song playback on my iPod my hair helped hide the earphones hanging from my ears. My dark green eyes looked awake, though I was in another world singing along in my head.
My eyes became focused and I was speaking 'Dramatic irony?'
'Very good, I almost thought you weren't paying attention.' Ms. Ling turned to face the board. I almost thought that I heard her, but I didn't. I was looking at her mouth move word by word. I looked around the room and no one seemed to notice or care. Everyone else had their head down, lost in outer space, or in a different world. How the hell did I do that? I thought to myself and put my head down on the desk.
The bell rang, I crossed the hallway, and stepped into the schools courtyard I sat on the grass and looked directly at the sun my aviators protecting my eyes. I had a study period but didn't feel like studying. A few minutes passed and I just laid there staring at the sun, and listening to music. I sat up quickly and everything was spotted. I knew there was someone there though because I saw a pair of black dress shoes in front of me.
'Hello Mr.Benston.'
Someone was speaking to me but I didn't know who. Then I remembered the voice of the man: I should be going now.
'What? Who are you?' I stood up from the ground and looked at the man through my sunglasses.
The man took a step forward and put out his hand.
'What do you want?'
The man stood there with his hand held out 'come on shake my hand we'll talk over lunch?'
'Sorry dude, I'm not hungry.'
I turned to walk away but there was someone in front of me. A very pale woman all I saw was her face; white, comforting, caring, inviting. Then I saw her hand she held it out towards me. Her lips parted slightly.
I heard hissing from behind me when I turned around I could see the man it was like he was being ripped in half by flames, and emerging from the flames was a phoenix. Just when its talons were about to grab me I put the woman's hand in mine. A sudden feeling of weightlessness, nauceousness, and hopelessness hit me at the same time. It was dark now. I couldn't see.
'You're okay now River.'
I looked up to see that my face had been buried in a dark black rug. Me and the black rug were the only things with color in the room. Everything around me was white. The walls, the ceiling, the woman was standing a yard away a white cup in her hand, her clothes, her hair, and her skin was just about as white as the room, but her eyes they were green. A dark green, you could tell from her eyes that shes strong and beautiful.
