Judith gasped, sitting up quickly in her bed. Beads of sweat trickled down the dip of her back. "Just.. a dream." The young girl sighed heavily collecting herself before running a hand through her ruby red hair.

Looking over to the clock she drew the covers back and got up out of bed. "2:34 am.. that's a new record." Judith said sarcastically to herself. A gold locket hung from her neck with a green emerald resting in the middle of the heart shaped locket.

Her dad had given it to her when she was five years old. And since his death, she was weary of letting anyone else touch it.

Lucky for her, it was Saturday and she literally had nothing else to do. She pulled open the curtains of her bedroom to reveal nothing but darkness and the droplets of rain running down from the brutal storm that was currently taking place.

A white light flashed, revealing a dark figure standing just outside the property that was owned by her parents.

Crack!

Came the sound lightning, alerting Judith and causing her to squint at said figure.

This is not the time for games. Another flash of white light flickered and the figure was now in front of her windows.

The young female jumped, screaming and backing away from the window. It had the build of a male, sort of buff maybe? Clamping a hand over her mouth to try and help control her ragged breathing.

Tap.. Tap.. Tap..

Judith's heart thumped in her chest and she could feel each beat just at the base of her throat. Lighting flickered and the 3D figures face was visible.

A wide, chaotic smirk tugged itself onto his lips, growing into the infamous Cheshire Smile. In the blink if an eye, he had disappeared into thin air just before her foster mother could come rushing into her room.

"Judith are you okay?!"

Caroline yelled, possibly waking their neighbors up next. "..."Judith did not answer, the red head only stared in shock at the darkness of her room's window. Dread raced through her veins, complimenting her pale skin.

"Judith?" Caroline wrapped an arm around the girls shoulders, snapping her out of her gaze. "Y-yeah mom.. I'm fine." Judith nodded her head slowly. "Are yo-" Caroline got cut off by Judith.

"Yes." Her foster daughter said, causing Caroline to quiet down. Slowly, her arms fell from around Judith's body. "I didn't-"

"No.. it's fine." Said Caroline, tucking a piece of strawberry blonde, curled hair behind her ear. An awkward silence began developing between the two as time went by.

Judith was never the same after her dad and mom had died. So, that left Caroline to decided and break the silence. "How about we take a little trip tomorrow.. ya'know.

To get your mind off of things." Judith only nodded, not daring to say a word as her finger tips glided themselves over the locket that hung from a golden chain, resting at the center of her chest.

Caroline gave Judith a soft smile, kissing her cheek gently before walking out of the room. She had always wondered what was going on inside the young teenagers head, yet she never really knew how to ask Judith about it.

Judith crawled back into her bed after turning on her lamp and switching off the room light. She grabbed her remote and turned on the TV. Her phone buzzed rapidly and Judith picked it up, confused as to why it was going off like crazy.

She had got an emergency alert. "What could have possibly happened now?" She punched in her own number, unlocking her phone and skimming over the alert. "Murder in the area.." she was aloud.

Her heart plummeted into her stomach. "Oh no.." quickly, she got up to lock all the windows. "Bathrooms check, living room check, dinning room check, hallway ending check, basement check, kitchen check."

Judith sighed and fell back down on her bed. "I feel like I'm forgetting something though." "Judith, I'm going out for bit. I'll be back soon. Keep all the doors and windows locked." Her foster Mom was in the investigation of murder business and Judith knee that.

"Already ahead of you.. and mom.. be careful. Please." Caroline's heart filled with warmth when she herd those words. "I will." With that being said, she left the room and exited the house, locking the door behind her.

Judith called for her dog Oreo and he came padding into her room happily. Judith smiled, getting up and closing her bedroom door and locking it.

She once again crawled back into her bed and sat in the middle of it with her legs folded. Oreo sat proudly on his owner's lap and snuggled against her. About 10 minute's later, the storm had calmed and Judith began getting sleepy. With her motion, Oreo climbed off her lap and laid next to her as she snuggled beneath her cover's. "Goodnight Mom.. Dad.."She gently clutched her locket as her eyes shut and that was it.

Oreo stayed alert, hopping down from her side but in his mind, vowing to return to her as soon as he had come to the conclusion that she was safe. Setting off on his own, his nose trailed lightly along the hard wooded floor; he was looking for any scent that he hadn't already memorized as his caretakers.

(There's a doggy door in her room allowing Oreo to come and go as he pleases ^^')

The black and white imperial shish tzu kept on the move, searching the house and sniffing out the unfamiliar scent. As soon as Oreo was about to run back to the room, he let out a growl and barked loudly at the figure that was standing in the middle of the living room. Before it could dash for the dog, Oreo took off; running back to Judith's room quickly and irritating the unknown intruder that was inside the house.

The dog barked loudly, alerting a sleeping Judith. "Oreo...", she groaned sitting up in her bed and rubbing her eyes. Upon hearing the sound of someone trying to turn her doorknob, both Judith's and Oreo's head snapped toward's the door. Being only half awake, Judith was having a hard time processing what the heck was going on.

Once the infiltrater saw that it was locked, he stopped turning the knob which left the room dead silent. The only thing that could be herd was Judith's breathing and the low growl's emitting from within Oreo's throat. She tried her best to calm herself and quietly shifted off her bed. To see Oreo growling and barking was unlike him. He would never act like this... unless. 'Can't I just get a break..' she fought hard to bite back tear's until-

Bang! Bang!

Two gunshot's we're fired and Judith yelped. She picked up Oreo and ran into the bathroom in her bedroom. She slammed the door shut, locked it and went over to the window. 'Too small..' She slid down the wall and curled up into a fetal position. 'How'd he get in.. I locked all the door's and window's. The creak of her door sounded and she along with Oreo could hear the heavy footstep's of the male intruder. Judith Oreo got closer to Judith.

He knew that they would probably never make it out alive. But he was proud to have stood for his owner as long as he did. Tear's rolled down her face as she put her hand's over her ear's. Oreo bent down and licked them away, his dark blue eye's quivering just a bit. The both too young for the tragedy that was about to happen. They didn't deserve it and yet... it was happening to them. The door had opened, and Judith could feel someone approaching her. 'This is it..' She told herself before....
