Chapter 1 : What Makes You Beautiful
Harry, Zayn, Niall, Louis and Liam were exhausted after a long day of singing. “Holy - , I’m exhausted!” , Zayn puffed. ” Me too, buddy!”, Harry patted on Zayns shoulder. “Let’s all go at my place, where we can rest a bit” , Harry proposed. “Yeah!!” , Zayn, Liam and Louis shouted in union. “What do you think , Niall?” , Liam asked, “Erm, Niall? Where are you?” The boys stood up and looked around, but at the place Niall was seated before, there was only a crease in the couch.
“I’ll call him” , Liam said. He let the phone ring for over a five times. But no one answered. “You are talking to Niallator!” , Nialls voicemaill said. “Owkaaaay, so, we can’t reach Niall… Odd…” Louis said like a detective, while scratiching the beard he didn’t have. Harry laughed, what made Zayn and Liam laugh too. ” I think our Niall is hiding something for us, what do you think?” , Harry asked like an interviewer to Liam. Louis jumped before Liam and spoke to the imaginary microphone Harry was holding in front of him. “I can’t give you any information about the investigation, I can only tell you that! But we are talking about -” . “Yeah, Louis, we already know” , Zayn started talking to the mic, “the only thing I can say is: Vas Happenin? But enough interviews for today, thank you very much!” Liam shook of laughter, and the boys started laughing again.
Niall was looking around anxiously. When he didn’t see some curls from behind a newspaper or some gigling girls, he entered the restaurant where he was going to meet Eline, his girlfriend. They had met each other during a concert in Belgium, her home country and it was love at first sight. But after the awkward phonecall of this afternoon he wasn’t so sure anymore. They had been on the phone for nearly five minutes and had hardly said a word. He was wondering if she might was expecting that he had met another girl. He was already dreading to face her in the restaurant. But he had to do it, he knew it. He opened the red door that gave him acces to the restaurant. When Niall saw her, his heart started beating faster. Gosh, he loved this girl! She was playing with the cards for underneath the beer glasses. She looked like she was struggling with something.
“Hi, precious!”, he said. That made her smile: ” Hi Nialler!”. When he sat down, the awkward feeling of the phonecall started again. They were looking in each others eyes like they knew what would come. But didn’t want to start it. “You know -” , they said at the same time. “Okay, you first!” , again said in union. That reminded Niall of the movie he and Liam had seen yesterday. “Okay, I’ll go first” , he said. “Eline, I really love you, I really really do!” , those words seemed to hurt her, so he stopped and looked questioning at her. “I’m sorry, I have to tell you this… But I’ve met my new neighbour, and… ” , she spoke. “You love him…” , Niall finished her sentence. She nodded slowly. Tears burning in her eyelids. “I’m sorry” , she said so silent , that he didn’t know if she had said it at all. He took her hand and started rubbing it gently. “I’ve actually also something to tell you.” She looked up, her cheeks drenched in her tears and her eyes reddened because of the salty tears that she couldn’t controll. “I’ve met a girl, we’re not dating. But I think I love her quite a lot. But don’t think I didn’t love you. I did a lot, I actually still do. But I think it’s better if we split up. Because I do not want to fool anyone any longer with this relationship…” his words were rolling out of his mouth like he had trained, during his walk to the restaurant. “I’m happy for you, I really am!” , Eline said. “I’m so happy that we can stay friends, ‘cause I still love you a great deal. I’ts just like you say. Since I’ve met Charles, I have been fooling myself, you and all the other people with this relationship.”
Happy that they both had said what they wanted to, they hugged each other and gave one last goodbye kiss. “Noohohohohooo!” , they both started laughing. “Ew! It’s not the same anymore. It’s like I’m kissing my brother, it doesn’t feel right” Eline said, while wiping her mouth. “Yeah right buddie, the same here! ” Niall laughed, they hugged each other. And it felt good. “You have to do me a favour” , Niall said suddenly very serious.
