I sat with Oliver and Luna on the ground, hugging my knees, which my jeans were ripped at the knees. Oliver was comforting me because it had been a while and Neville still hadn't came to the great hall, and it was worrying me. It was now daytime, but only a few people were outside.
"Neville will show Jenn, he'll be okay." He said, rubbing my shoulder.
"I hope so." I said shakily before someone shouted, "They're coming!" We all looked at each other before walking outside, to see Voldemort and his death eaters walking towards the courtyard. Hagrid was with them, holding something.
"Oliver, what's Hagrid got?" I asked, pulling on his sleeve.
"I don't know Jenni, I think it's a person." My heart sank. I overheard Ginny say, "Neville, what's Hagrid carrying?" Neville. I jumped up and I saw him standing in the very front of everyone, holding the sorting hat, which was ripped and tattered. They stopped.
"Harry Potter is dead!" Voldemort yelled, cackling.
"No!" Ginny screamed, running up, before her father stopped her in his arms. I gasped and put my head into Oliver's side, trying not to let anyone see me cry.
"Silence!" He yelled. "Stupid girl. Harry Potter is dead! From this day forth, you'll put your faith in me. Harry Potter is dead!" He faced the group of death eaters, earning evil cackles and snorts from the crowd. "Now it is time to declare yourself. Come forward and join us!" No one came forward, everyone just stared.
"Draco," A weak voice said from the crowd before us. It was Lucius Malfoy. "Draco, come here." I looked back and saw Malfoy standing near Luna, looking down. For the first time in my life, is actually felt bad for him.
"Draco, come." His mother said from next to his father. He reluctantly looked around before slowly making his way towards them.
"Traitor." Oliver grumbled and I slapped his stomach for him to get the message to shut up. Voldemort hugged Malfoy and he walked over to his parents. Then I saw another figure limping towards them.
"Well I must say I'd hoped for better." He joked, making all of his followers laugh. "And who might you be young man?"
"Neville Longbottom." No. They all laughed again.
"Well Neville I suppose I can find somewhere to put you in our ranks-"
"I'd like to say something!" Neville cut him off.
"What on Earth is he doing?" Ron whispered to Hermione from in front of us.
"He's taking your advice." I said.
"Well Neville, I'm sure we'll all be fascinated at what you have to say." Voldemort croaked.
"It doesn't matter that Harry's gone."
"Stand down Neville!" Seamus warned.
"People die every day!" He exclaimed. "Friends, family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight." He turned back to all of us. "But he's still with us, in here." He pointed to his chest, indicating his heart. "So's Fred, Remus, Tonks, all of them." My eyes began to water again and Oliver wiped them away in one swift movement.
"They didn't die in vain." He said, but he turned to face Voldemort. "But you will. 'Cause you're wrong!" He yelled. "Harry's heart did beat for us, for all of us!" He pulled something out of the Sorting Hat. The Sword of Gryffindor. "It's not over!" Some death eaters shrieked, and with a swift moment, Harry fell out of Hagrid's arms. He was never actually dead. He raised his wand.
"Confringo!" He yelled, shooting fire at Voldemort's snake, which was sent to the crowd of death eaters. Everyone began running rampid, scrambling back into the castle.
"We have to kill the snake!" Ron exclaimed. Neville ran at the with the sword and Voldemort yelled, "Stupify!", sending Neville backwards. I ran to him.
"Neville!" I exclaimed, crouching next to him. "Nev?" He wasn't responding, but was still breathing. I kissed his forehead and walked off, back to the Weasleys, Alex and Hermione.
"Ginny!" I exclaimed, as Ginny deflected a spell produced by Bellatrix. Mrs. Weasley stepped in front of her and Bellatrix laughed wittily.
"Not my daughter, you bitch!" She yelled, making Bellatrix cackle. She began sending spells at her, hitting her with a freezing spell.
"Reducto!" She yelled and Bellatrix blew into shreds of feathers. I was in awe. Harry was off fighting Voldemort, Ron and Hermione went to kill his snake, and everyone else was fighting. I was scared. I turned around and saw a death eater coming at Oliver from behind.
"Immobulus!" I screamed, pointing my wand at him, and he froze. "Bombarda!" He blew into smithereens.
"Not bad Jenni." Oliver said, impressed with me.
"Thanks." I said, blowing a piece of hair out of my eyes. I saw two figures appear in the courtyard.
"It's Harry!" I said to Oliver, pointing at them.
"Come on then!" He said, grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the steps. We crouched and looked out the door, to see them duelling. I looked behind me and saw Ron and Hermione in the corner of the room, clutching together. I saw Voldemort's snake lunge for them.
"Ron! Hermione!" I yelled. Then I saw something I never thought I'd see. I saw Neville rise, wielding the Sword of Gryffindor, and slice the snake in half, it blowing into thin air. Harry shot a spell at Voldemort and it hit him.
He began withering and peeling away into the air, flakes of his being floating away.
It was finally over.
