Chpater 3 - catching the Unsub

"Clear" I shouted searching through the house.

"All clear!" Morgan shouted. The unsubs house was really clean not regular clean like OCD clean.

"Hey guys look at this" Reid called. I walked in to see him standing there with a family album. "He blocked his mom out of everyone of these photos" he showed us some of the pictures "but when it comes to his dad he doesn't" he said.

"Maybe he's referring to a stereotype that the child will always be closer to the mother" I suggested.

"Could be" Morgan said.

"Garcia" I rang "could you see if Alex ever had a father while growing up?" I asked politely.

"Yes just a second" I could here lots of typing "he had lost his father in a car accident when he was a young boy around 9 so he was old enough to remember this" Garcia explained.

"Oh my..."

"Not yet there's more after Alex's father died the mother then focused on her son more but on the 13th of December two days after his fathers death Alex was taken by Al Fordman which was the social worker that came to collect him because he was worried about his mothers state" she rambled on and on.

"Okay Garcia thank you" I nodded being the one to hang up first this time.

"Alex had a really bad background when he was growing up I mean his father died on the 11th and two days after Alex was abducted" I shrugged not knowing how to catch Alex, the unsub.

"Just seen suspect around in the super market" the radio blurred.

"Reid you go with Casey and catch this unsub don't alarm him" he warned.

We got in and we drove towards the market. "I'll let you go first you've got the gun" I nudged him smiling. We soon got out and walked towards the market seeing a few officers standing outside. "What's going on?" I asked.

"The unsub's gone" an officer turned round answering my question.

"Gone... What do you mean gone he was just_"

"Yeah well he's not now agent and you better watch your tone with me young lady" he warned as Reid escorted me away.

"Wait I think I have an idea where he might be" Reid suggested getting his phone out. "Garcia where does Alex's mother live?" Reid asked. "Okay thanks Garcia" he hung up. "Come on" he took my hand leading me to the car.

After calling from the front door I knocked the door down and let Reid go in first. "Clear!" I shouted not hearing Reid answer. "Clear!" I shouted louder still no answer from him.

I went into the room seeing Reid's gun on the floor, I picked it up. Even though I've never handled a gun before it was for self defence. I aimed it while walking slowly into the room I saw Alex holding his mother and Reid at gun point. "Shoot me and they both die" he warned.

"Alex... You don't wanna do that" I warned him trying to play with his mind.

"Just shut up!" He yelled "you don't know what it's like to have a bad parent" he explained "she's the reason why I'm like this" he pointed at his mother.

"She's not the reason Alex... You brought that on yourself... She was trying to pick up the pieces... Can't you see she loves you Alex" I pointed. "Just look at her just look her in the eye are those the eyes of a bad parent?" I asked taking a step forward.

"Alex I never meant for you to be taken away" the mother shook her head. "The social worker was worried about the state of me and financially I struggled" she started to cry I stepped forward again. "But in gods name I never wanted to give you away you were my son" she burst out in tears the unsub looked her up and down.

"Your mother never meant for this Alex" I shook my head.

"And now you've killed all those women because of me well..." The unsub started to tear as he listened to his mother cry out.

"I_I-I'm sorry I-I didn't mean for anybody to..." He stopped turning round to see me creeping up on him.

"Alex do the right thing" I smiled. The reaction was the complete opposite of mine. He straightened his arm and put a finger on his trigger button....

...As I noticed he wasn't getting back up I had pulled the trigger on my gun. I looked in shock at the body in front of me everything around me was in slow motion. The smell of dripping blood filled my atmosphere making me feel cold and dark. I could hear a sound from behind me. I dropped the gun like it was some sort of device that controlled me. I blinked slowly realising I had just killed a human being.

I turned to see Reid shaking my shoulders. "She's having a panic attack!" He shouted but really slowly. I saw Alex's body in a pool of warm blood in front of me. I had just killed a human being. "Casey!" Reid shouted at me again slowly. I shook my head coming back to reality.

Reid stared at me in the eye. "What happened?" I asked not remembering the last few minutes of my life.

"Wait you spoke are you sure you're fine?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm fine" I laughed it off nervously.

"Casey are you aware you just had a panic attack?" He asked checking me over.

"No" I raised an eyebrow at him wondering what was he going on about.

"Do you feel fine?" He asked hesitating over me like he was my dad or something.

"Spence I'm fine" I moaned. "I'm okay" I smiled at him fiddling with my hair.

We got back to the office and I sat on my desk, relaxing. "Here..." Hotch gave me my very own gun.

"I don't think I should" I shook my head looking at the thing.

"You need to protect yourself out there" he mentioned putting it on my desk. I looked at my team members.

"Take it just in case" Morgan spoke out putting his jacket on.

"So where to?" JJ asked.

"Well I was thinking we could go dancing?" Garcia mentioned. Oh great I hated dancing, I can't dance. Everyone agreed and was waiting on my response "go on" I moaned getting up.

We all went out of the office laughing with joy. I held my gun in my pocket clenching it like I would need to use it or something. I'm Agent Parker and I'm a BAU agent now...

A/N.... Hope you like the chapters I've been working on them so hard just I've had exams and coursework to catch up on so I've been occupied for the last couple of days. I love criminal minds so much it's unbelievable especially Reid he's so smart and cute with his haircut now. Well... If you want the next chapter please
