Spells flew everywhere as the battle began. The knights were trained to kill witches and deflected most of the curses. Lilly pulled out her daggers and leapt into the middle of the knights formation. She stabbed at anyone within range until Ari appeared behind her. "You have to leave. Now," she said grabbing her arm.

"No! I can't," Lilly yelled yanking her arm away. Their friends had formed a human barrier do Ari could talk to her.

"Please, Lilly, if you get hurt we'll have no High Priestess."

"Gwen can handle it until I heal if I'm hurt." Lilly said trying to get back into the fight.

"Gwen is dead."

"What?" Lilly froze with her glaz eyes wide open and her mouth forming a perfect o. "What do you mean, I saw her a minute ago!"

"She was alive a minute ago. Now she's not," Ari was losing her patience quickly and took advantage of Lilly shock to pull her out a hidden door into an alley.

"What the hell, Ari! Why'd you pull me out here?"

"Because we'd be insane to let you stay." Gabe said.

"I can take care of myself," Lilly said.

"We know but you tend to be impulsive," Sabrina said. "You could've gotten yourself killed if we let you stay."

"Guys, be quiet," Elijah whispered, "I think I hear something." Everyone fell quiet and listened intently.

"I saw them come down here," a male voice said. Two shadows appeared on the wall of the dimly lit alley.

"Knights," Isabelle squeaked in fear.

"I think I heard something," another voice said. "This way."

They all froze. "Run!" Lilly hissed pushing Jace away. "There has to be somewhere we can hide," she tip toed further down the alley. "Dead end. We're trapped."

"I see them!" a knight yelled and at least ten others came running with their weapons drawn.

Lilly had her daggers out in an instant and cut down the first knight she saw. For every knight they killed at least two more took their place as the desperate battle continued. She was back to back with Ari both of them fighting two people at once. A knight punched Lilly in the face and she fell distracting Ari who was thrown down by the same knight. Gabe and Jake attempted to help them but were knocked out by blows to the head. The others were already down.

"Well, well. Look what we have here. The last of the witches. Yes, that's right. The rest if your devil worshipping friends are dead," the man took off his helmet and Lilly could see his sneer. "Now all of you will come quietly with us. Since none of your friends could get the punishment they deserve you'll have to pay for them." He snapped his fingers and the other knights dragged them to their feet. They all knew resisting would be useless if what he said was true they couldn't expect anyone to come rescue them. They were so screwed.
