(AN: Sorry about the chapters being so short. I just haven't been having the motivation to write. I promise that I'll try harder to get the chapters longer!)
Sean's POV:
'Because it was the right thing to do.' His words echo in my head as I sit in class, not really paying attention at all to the lessen. It's been a week or two since that day. The day he got beat up because of me and the day we first meet. He said his name was Mark. I don't even remember if I told him mine. I feel bad because after our first encounter, I haven't really interacted with him at all. I mean, I've tried but he doesn't really talk much. He always sits in the back of the class or by himself at lunch. I just feel bad for him. He's always alone. Nobody deserves to be alone. I glance back, seeing him sitting in the back corner again, his chin resting on the desk with his arms cover his face. I can help but feel like he's going though more than just being the new kid. He just seems so sad all the time. I didn't realize I was staring until the bell rings, scaring the shit out of me and causing me to jump. I quickly look away as he sits up. I scramble to grab my stuff and catch up to him a he walks out of the class room. I grab his shoulder to get his attention, feeling him tense up at the touch. He turns around to face me, looking down at me since he's an inch or two taller than me.
"I uh, I was wondering if you'd wanna sit with me and my friends at lunch. I can't help but notice that you're always sitting alone. I mean, you don't have to sit with us if you don't wanna, I-I just thought I'd offer." I explain nervously, avoiding eye contact. He hesitates before nodding. I give him a relieved smile before we both walk to our next class.
~Time Skip~
I'm sitting at our usual table, with Felix next to me. He's too busy flirting with his little crush to even acknowledge that I was at the table. I scan the cafeteria, looking around for Mark. He's no where in sight. I groan, angrily munching on my sandwich. I'm not angry at Mark, just angry that I'm stuck as the third wheel for the third day in a row. I sigh, rolling my eyes as Felix repeats the same cheesy pickup line he said yesterday. Somehow Marzia still finds it funny, because she just laughs as I drop my sandwich and slam my head on the table in frustration. I stay there with my head down until I hear someone sit down across from me. I almost didn't notice because he was so quiet, but I immediately pick my head up, looking over at him with a faint smile.
"Hey Mark!" I say happily, trying to ignore Felix and his stupid flirting. He just smiles and pulls a sandwich out of him lunchbox. Still not talkative I see. I hum to myself, taking a bite out of my sandwich. This might be an awkward lunch
